There seems to be a new continuity announcer on this morning, can't say I've heard his voice before.

If it was the same person announcing The Simpsons last night, he is definitely new. He has a very distinctive voice, I have to say.

I wonder if he's ever seen it? Although I think he's been coming to the UK for about 15 so chances are he has.

I wonder if William G Stewart is involved this anymore?

Didn't realise there are internal versions. It was sold to Sweden* in 2008 with 12 contestants and versions in other countries have existed/exist with 10 contestants.

I'd say there's a 15 to 1 chance.

The Polish version is set in Space!

I imagine Hills will have question cards to preserve the traditions of the show, although it would probably have a cheap looking podium with a screen built into it if the show launched today. Wouldn't surprise me if the contestants podiums use fake lights on a screen though like the modern day Polish version.

This 80s weekend looks interesting, but...

Quote:
Alan Carr will host a Chatty Man special interviewing 1980s legends, Rewind: The Tube will take a look back at the music show and there will be a Big Fat Quiz of the 80s.

...didn't they do a Big Fat Quiz of the 80s a while ago?

Nice promos... but why the 80's theme?

I'm guessing because the last time 3D TV happened properly was probably in the 1980's, but you never know, I'm not complaining like, good to see Channel 4 not forgetting about the coloured blocks.

I do like the Four Score / A-Ha: Take On Me mix they've got going on that promo.

I like the old C4 logo. It's nice. It's a shame they had decided to edit the coloured blocks so they just didn't have colour anymore. They've lost their character. Sad

The coloured logo was very of it's time though. You should be glad they've managed to modernise the logo, whilst not changing it drastically.

You can't say it's lost it's character when it's way more distinctive than 90% of brands today.

Exactly - for a 31 year old logo it is looking pretty good.

Yup, that's the only change between the 80s C4 pres and todays - the lack of colour.

.. and of course the small matter that C4 no longer do their own pres at all.
