When they said the people behind Brookside and Big Brother would be appearing to discuss C4 I knew that was one argument I wasn't wanting to rewatch yet again.
It's been a pretty poor showing today from C4 - never expected them to make as big a deal as their 25th, but if they're going to do another Mash Up they might as well have done it tonight - or at the very least have a C4 themed Come Dine with Me. Channel hopping ten minutes ago and seeing Baggage on C4 just shows how far it has sunk in the last couple of years at least.
Disapointing though that Countdown producers reportedly refused Carol Vorderman a guest spot on the 30th birthday. Did they do anything of note today or was it just a regular episode with perhaps a brief mention?

She wasn't dismissed. She was offered a reduced salary which she refused. Now she's being paid as a Tory consultant on education, as well as being a Loose Woman
Sorry for bumping the discussion of Channel 4's daytime and over reliance of CDWM but it appears a new show called 1001 Things You Should Know is going to be on at 3.30pm weekdays from next week, meaning that Countdown will be on at 2.40pm (grr!) with Phil Spencer's Secret Agent on at 1.35pm and only one hour of CDWM at 12.35pm. It certainly looks like this is a sign of things to come, and I can't see the old films coming back either.

Full English: It seems its really spiting people down the middle. I like it.
Just turned 30, Channel 4 has for too long relied on a tired roster of television celebs (see Hotel GB). But there are signs it might be finding its funky, irreverent soul
I've just heard Peter Kay on Radio 2 plugging his latest re-packed DVD rip-off. When he'd done with selling his soul and remembering stuff from the 80's, do
you
remember cassette tapes?, he briefly mentioned a new character based show he was doing for Channel 4 next year - a 'Secret Millionare' parody (yawn).
