In addition the BB audience profile now has Internet enabled phones and tablets providing much more individually tailored entertainment, the flippant content and instant news, being available via social networks.
I don't see how you can compare a television programme with social networks. They are two very different things. I really don't think people are abandoning television for Facebook.
We'll differ on all three, especially when considering the demographic. People not switching to Facebook from TV is clearly happening especially first thing. As for risky television, Channel 4 is not financially strong enough, and in the short to medium future not lilkely ti be in a position, to risk putting substantial funds at risk out of primetime.
Hopefully rhetorical that, as I've explained before the Breakfast TV audience is contracting, with a resurgent radio sector. In addition the BB audience profile now has Internet enabled phones and tablets providing much more individually tailored entertainment, the flippant content and instant news, being available via social networks.
They'd be mad and foolhardy to even attempt it.
An innovative product can single-handedly drive any market. I believe The Big Breakfast did exactly that in the 90s.
Doesn't look like they'll be anything special scheduling wise on the 2nd November for the 30th birthday - no mention of it at all in fact, so unless they dust off the idents again it'll probably only get a mention on Countdown.
Considering the 25th is still fairly fresh in the mind (and doesn't feel like 5 years ago) I wasn't expecting anything but considering they said at the end of last year the C4 Mash Up in January would be the start of a year of celebrations to mark 30 years - and they've done absolutely nothing since - it's all a bit of an anti-climax.

The only special programming on C4 I recall was The Big Anniversary Quiz - the rest was all on More4.

I think the Funny Fortnight was under the celebration banner.

They've also had the Big Fat Quiz of the 80s, 90s and 00s.
Channel 4 last night
