Here is a 4 minute version of the music from the original stripes idents that I downloaded years ago.

No, that's just the commercially-released remix, the same track that Jonny mentioned earlier. It re-uses a few of the samples, but the actual idents have a different tempo and a better range - they sound much less over-produced. The compilation vid is one of the best references for this...

It's on YouTube also. It's not quite the same as the ident music - if anybody has a clean version of that, that'd be brilliant!

Agreed; and being used to the ident versions, I've slowed the remix down to 'correct' the tempo Razz

Looking for anything in particular? I might be able to help with one of the Schools ones if I dig around in my recordings, definitely nothing else though. May be a worthy one for Requests, on the offchance...

Thanks I certainly will be doing that.

I'm not often up at this unearthly hour - but I was surprised to see Channel 4 are still showing The Hoobs in the same slot they were 10 years ago. Are they supposed to maintain some kind of Childrens' output, and this is their token effort? Bit pathetic if so. The children on here must be halfway through their teens now...

Did anyone see the 8pm edition of Come Dine With Me tonight? Not sure what had gone on with the filming but it had a strange " look " to some of the shots - almost like it had been shot in a different way / on a different type of video / film.

Anyone got a technical explanation to enlighten me?

For a while C4 had a bit of a problem where on some programmes, the chroma appeared to be leading the luminance by a frame or so, meaning that there was an odd colour fringing on shots with certain kinds of motion. It wasn't this old chestnut back again, was it?

The kids who were watching 10 years ago won't still be watching though, that's the important thing.

Yes, it was a fault that affected some transfers between C4's near line server(s), and on line server(s), which is why it only appeared on certain programmes. Was last night's programme new or a repeat ? If the latter then it could simply be an old file with that fault on it still ?

Funny problem with the EPG on Channel 4 at the moment. They appear to be showing Gentlemen Broncos (which is a film apparently) and the page at http://watchlive.channel4.com/C4 backs that up. However, the Sky EPG says 'Unknown' with a description of 'Unknown'. The Freeview EPG still says The Million Pound Drop is on Channel 4 and Channel 4 HD (it was on before the file started). The Channel 4+1 EPG is also broken in the same way bit an hour later, obviously.

A side effect of this is that I can't pause or record 'Unknown' on Sky+.

I believe the cause of this is corrupt EPG data. It seems to have happened at some point in the early hours of this morning (e.g. when Channel 4 would push out amendments and updates). The usual error, "not available", seems to occur when there is a gap in the provided data.

Channel 4 HD have kept the live DOG from Million Pound Drop Live during the adverts and well in to the next programme (Alan Carr: Chatty Man). At the time of writing, it is still there now.

I don't get what was wrong with the one generated by the programme. Yes, it goes out on C4+1 and 4oD, but anyone stupid enough to complain about that is, well, stupid.

I wonder what Channel Four are planning for their 30th Anniversary. Five years ago we had the FourScore idents and repeats of early programming - and that was a great tribute to the past. It would be hard to beat that.
