The studio of Alan Carr's Summertime Specstacular which was shown last night featured 2 coloured Channel 4 logos, in a similar style to what was seen on Sunday Brunch.

Maybe the appearances of the logo are related to the run-up to Channel 4's 30th birthday later this year?

That's a point - last year they said they'd be shows throughout the year to mark 30 years of C4 but I don't think we've had anything since the Mash Up in January.

I ould think so. Remember that they returned for one day only on their 25th anniversary. I also just wonder if they did return, would it be permanent? After all, Coca Cola and wrangler jeans haven't changed their logos in their history!

I don't think in the short term they would bring back the coloured version (in a new form). 4seven is all based around the current 3D version of the logo, and all their Paralympic branding is to - so I don't think they'd ditch it a few months later.

That said although I think the general logo and look of the channel is great and has a few years left in it I am beginning to tire of the idents a bit. As great as they are they've been using many of them (and the idea) for eight years now so an ident refresh (assuming it's not a disaster) would be most welcome - and as the idents are kind of separate to the "look" of the channel that is something they could do without tweaking the logo.

I think its just a design feature if anything and nothing really to read into. It would look pretty bland if they had the Channel 4 logo on the set and it was just white, although quite odd that two shows have the logo in their set to begin with.

Here's a grab off of Google Images, [caution: "bieber"]:

A more direct historical nod than Sunday Brunch's take, must be linked to the 30th anniversary?

The Alan Carr set was the same as the New Year's Specstacular set, all be it slightly redressed.
The idea is that it's supposed to be in the channel 4 basement, presumebly that's the idea of the logos being present. I remember that light lunch used to feature the channel 4 circles logo on set, maybe princess productions like the idea.

I don't know if somebody at scheduling didn't check, or it is " deliberate ", but More4 are showing the same 5 Come Dines as Channel 4 did last night. Very unusual for this to happen.

Apparently the last full series was back in 2008, and the last mini-series was in 2010.

That is one series I really think would have benefitted from being "demoted" from the main channel and moving to More4 where it could have had a decent weeknight slot, rather than 7/8pm at the weekend - and also been one of the stations highlights. Then again on the rare occassions More4 has original content it often ends up in stupid late night slots anyway.

It is a real shame to they moved True Stories from More4. It was on pretty much weekly on Tuesdays at 10pm but since it moved to C4 in January I think there have only been two or three films under the banner.
