Channel 4

I've been watching out for the various idents on Channel 4 and More 4.

Have Channel 4 shown the idents Alien (aka UFO), Trafalgar or Blackpool Tower lately?

As for idents on More 4, I've seen Boardwalk, Boat and Café, but haven't seen Tree yet. Tree is one of the current idents listed on The Ident Gallery, do More 4 show that very often?

Blackpool is always used in the daytime, trafalgar was used into a comedy programme the other week. As for alien/UFO, I haven't seen it for months.

Apart from the times it gets used in the evenings and overnight.

Hahaha. I'd say it's one of the most overused whenever I watch the channel.

Clever channel number for 4seven on Freeview. Currently showing a preview screen.

Estate (coincidentally my 'least favourite') and Blackpool seem to be more frequent when I'm watching, but I've never viewed a big block of consecutive junctions; I imagine they switch up the symbols pretty well.

Tokyo is still as great as it has ever been, and seems to have had good all-round use in recent years. Current favourite is Junkyard (?)* - the one that was first seen during 3D Week.

Not sure what has happened to Alien (although, if it's deliberately a 'rare sighting', that's a bit clever) or Lazy Bloke...

*Out of interest, any confirmation on the official names of Junkyard, Island, or Plane Graveyard?

Rather good. Can see why it never got aired, though.

According to 4creative the names are:
''Scrapyard''
''Aeroplane Graveyard''

So it got 47 then. I do wonder if the channel ended up being named 4seven when they realised that is where it'll end up.

Never knew whether to refer to it as either Scrapyard or Junkyard around when it first aired - should've known that whichever one I plumped for, it would be the other!


I like this phrase - they should rename the ident to 'Dead Pigeons'.

Although had I not seen it before, I'd have assumed that's how the '4' is formed...
