I think As If may have been the first and last original UK drama on T4. It continued though with plenty of it's own shows but in the last few years got obsessed with repeats o Friends and that was about it. The other content was mainly E4 US drama repeats and some stuff from 4Music - indeed 4Music probably hit it harder than E4.
I think though it comes down to cash - the budget was slashed when Princess Productions took over.

I remember it used to be filled with Stargate etc, and also Johnny bravo and power puff girls. Saying that The core etc on Five also went the same way. plenty of us stuff, Home grown productions etc but it start to get cut backs.

When it first launched its remit was a lot younger than what it had become by the 00s.

It used to span the whole morning as well, from 6am onwards, with a load of cartoons. It was a year or so in when that bit was branded separately and T4 started at 9am. Initially it had The Waltons on too, which had been running on C4 on Sundays before it began, and the most complaints they ever had were about the T4 DOG on it, so first they gave it a sepia DOG and then took it out of T4 completely.
Of course much of the stuff initially shown on T4 had already been running on Sunday morning C4 anyway, the likes of Wise Up and the Hollyoaks omnibus and the Dawson's Creek repeats.
I think T4 just feels so sterile nowadays. There's no feeling to it, in fact the bits in between are just getting in the way of watching the programme. I wonder if there would be any effect on ratings if they just dropped the T4 branding.
It just feels to me that, apart from 'At the Beach', there really is no point in T4 nowadays. And as much as we all love in-vision continuity, I'd rather just have normal continuity than T4 in its current form.
The fact T4 continuity now appears so disjointed and pre-recorded doesn't help. The original stuff from 124 Horseferry Road was far - if not slick - natural appearing.
Never knew 10 o'clock Live came from TVC. Just saying.
Yup, it's been TC6 from the start.
I'm just watching last night's episode, and now see why you mention it. And also why there was a stretched Hummer parked outside Stage Door on Tuesday evening.

I think they made a reference to it in the original Alternative Election thing.
Whether E4 SD is in the EPG of a card-less or FTV Sky box I'm not sure (if it isn't you could probably add it to OTHER CHANNELS manually) - but it is FTA on 28.2 (i.e. you can watch it with no decryption kit - using a FTA receiver, PC DVB-S tuner etc.)
FTA = Free to Air and not encrypted
FTV = Free to View and encrypted but subscription-free (you need a decryption system but don't need to pay)
