All of this fantastic presentation from channel 4 at the moment, and with many Christmas specials this year, is it to much to wish for something Christmas-sy?

I've noticed C4 occasionally doing something a wee bit different with their trailers - showing a glimpse of the endboard at the start. I can't quite work out the benefit - we all know it's a trailer, do they think we need reminding of the fact?

Of course - I guess a problem C4 has too is in recent years it's Christmas specials are generally in the run up to Christmas before the other channels kick in with theirs. That Home for the Holidays trailer though shows the sort of thing they could do - not sure if that's a real image or a bit of TV trickery, but wouldn't be too hard to do something like that for an ident.

I agree with that, do something with lights on a street, even snow over the country, or decorations in the living room. It's a shame that most probably the most creative channel in the UK in terms of branding don't get the chance at Christmas. Is there no way they could amend Something like the hay bales to cover them in snow?
Or as people have said before use the man on the sofa ident, obviously with des lynam edited it in favour of a scene from the snowman.

Yes - I think a tweaked Sofa ident and the unaired Old Man ident would work well as kind of "anti-Christmas" idents. And I'm sure quite a few in the collection could easily be tweaked.

I don't understand it either. It certainly doesn't improve their trailers in any way.

Exciting times on The Million Pound Drop this evening. Two pairs of contestants in a row have lost all their money on the first question. I bet the couple up now didn't think they would get a turn tonight.

It's interesting that there has been a fly in the studio for the past two nights, on this third night a man killed it. Has this act caused a curse on the contestants?

I've really struggled with the first two episodes - 10 questions over 90 minutes is very poor pacing - they used to manage that in an hour long edition.

Shocked Never expected that to happen. Surely they should split the money across more than one answer? These contestants didn't. "Don't put your eggs in one basket", some say. That's good advice.

It's better to win £25,000 on the last question, than lose £1,000,000 all in one go.

But we have had the fun with the wasp and George Lamb to look forward to each night too, so it isn't all about the questions.

Does George Lamb just turn up for 5 minutes at 23:30 each night or is already doing something else anyway (rehearsing The Bank Job?).

Where is his bit broadcast from?

I suppose it's all about greed, especially if they looked at the question and it seemed relatively easy. Along with the fact that the less they spread their money, the more they could possibly win.

As for the wasp, after one was squished, with Davina shouting "Stamp on it!", there was another that was hovering around a later contestant. Presumably the studio/warehouse that they use has a wasps nest, and I imagine it's something that in a vast space they cannot track it down.
