I quite enjoyed the David Walliams programme. It just happened that I was already familiar with many of the early clips, but some of the later ones were new and interesting to me.

The best thing about it was that the majority of the clips weren't the same old ones that have been shown on every clip show. Some fantastic research behind it and thankfully no talking heads telling us what they've been told to remember and what we've just seen!

Though judging by some of their clips (i.e. The Late Late Breakfast Show clip) I wouldn't be surprised if they've come to this very same forum to sources some of the clips that they shown!

Does no one post about these things when they're new anymore then? Laughing Has anyone else seen it appear at any other random points in the schedule recently?

I saw it appear late at night in mid-December right before the film Hero was broadcasted - didn't know that nobody had seen/posted it before! I would've posted my capped copy. :p

See my post earlier though... there would probably have been no other way to show such footage. I'm sure the BBC aren't keen on that incident being used on what is essentially a comedy programme and as explained in the voiceover, the Star Wars Holiday Special certainly wouldn't have made it on air if it wasn't sourced from an amateur copy

Three of the clips (Wilma Flintstone saying bollox, Noel Edmonds' local council rant and Noel Edmonds and Tom Jones speaking about Arabs) are on my YouTube channel and have been for quite some time. I'm not sure if they used "my" versions but there was no additional material in those clips that isn't on my YouTube channel so it's possible. How DARE television steel things that I stole from television!

There are other reasons why doing things the 'proper way' and sourcing the clips directly from the rights holder(s) isn't always practical. Legally they are probably in a better position by just showing the clips without asking than they would be by asking, receiving a negative response and then showing it anyway. Research might not be that easy either. How do you know which episode of The Late Late Breakfast Show you would need to request from the BBC to get the Tom Jones clip and how much could you justify spending to find out?

Refresh for T4 today with new idents, graphics and studio, though the logo and credits remain the same. Don't really get why they still use the generic credits for things like Hollyoaks when they don't interrupt them anyway - and if they needed too they could easily be overlayed on the right as other C4 ECPs.

I see they're still holding up the near-tradition of introducing the wrong one of each Simpsons episode.

Never seen that ident shown at 12.05pm, it was a 4 made of ruins of an old castle with wild rabbits running round, different to say the least.

It apparently first appeared sometime during the day on New Year's Eve, and tesandco helpfully uploaded it on New Year's Day: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/post692034#post692034

Just realised that it was E4's tenth birthday last Tuesday. Did any of the continuity announcers mark it in anyway? I'm guessing no by the lack of excited postings!

It was referenced by the continuity team and they celebrated by putting three episodes of Friends on.
