Wonder how well the Aussie one has been doing on E4 - it seems to be top of the charts or near enough on All 4 but the UK one really does suffer in comparison where it is one of the biggest shows down under these days. The last UK series had only two couples, after one pulled out last minute and it really did look like they were struggling to fill the episodes with neither couple lasting. I thought that might end up killing off the format over here, wonder if it's had an overhaul as no matches in any series is staggeringly poor as couples stay together more often on the international versions
It's been rating very well, steadily building up to 500k which is what Love Island Australia's been getting on ITV2 although its 16-34 rating is about half of Love Island.
It's amazing how big the show is in Australia, it seems to be one of their biggest shows. Look at the ratings tables on the Wikipedia page and every one of its 41 episodes of the 2019 came first in its timeslot.
I can't quite figure out why their hit rate is so much better than ours in terms of couples, could be as simple as them having a better casting team or perhaps culturally the meaning and importance of marriage is just a bit different? That's part of the reason why I think the Bachelor has never really worked in the UK whilst it's been very successful in the US. No one here believes you can fall for someone in the way that format works whereas Americans seem to be so enamoured by the fairytale nature of it that they're convinced it can lead to true love. Only one couple from 24 series of that show are still together.

Well they have 10 couples a year compared to 4 or 5 here, so odds are they'll get more matches. Of course though there they don't actually legally get married, whilst here I think they actually do. That probably takes the pressure off.
Luckily though for E4 if it has been a hit they are a few more series they can tap into. Always think though buying in Aussie series must be a nightmare as they tend to have variable episode lengths and Aussie networks frequently do things like schedule a show to run from 7.30-8.40pm, but the show will actually end at 9.20pm, even though it's pre-recorded.

There isn't a competetive element to Married at First Sight is there - no more than Take Me Out where you have to go through three rounds!

Looks like Netflix messed up and have removed S2 of Derry Girls from the platform, telling viewers to watch it on All 4 instead. Apparently they don't have the rights to S2 until S3 airs in the UK, which hasn't begun to film yet...
UPDATE: it looks like we were a bit early with this one so have had to take season two down for now. We'll let you know when it's coming back as soon as we can. In the meantime, it's available now on All 4. https://t.co/UQR5dZvqeb

E4 and 4 Music butcher everything, hell, even Channel 4 butcher things, long gone are the days when it was the broadcaster with balls who cared about the creators vision for the output and didn't edit or crop it.
Any 4:3 content on 4 Music is cropped to 16:9 centre cut-out apart from Charmed and Sabrina, which gets stretched horizontally and broadcast as if it were 16:9. No other channel of theirs does this, so why the odd treatment, or lack of care taken when showing older content on 4 Music?

Well, I know, I'm expecting Season 28's Treehouse of Horror to ethier a.) be skipped (most likely as in the last 2 years all the free to air premieres skipped over the halloween episodes or b.) they show it and be cut to ribbons.
I never new TOW Free Porn existed until I started getting the DVD boxsets. (i'm talking about Friends, BTW)
Here is just a little slice of what E4, 4Music and Channel 4 butcher:
The Simpsons
Scrubs
Friends (idk if they what year they started cutting it like crazy - 2011)
The Big Bang Theory (which should be permanetly censored for how bad it is)
Sabrina The Teenage Witch (idk if they do, as soon as 4Music started broadcasting it I started watching it)
How I Met Your Mother
Everybody loves Raymond
Frasier
... i could go on

It's not even a sexual episode, the characters just say "porn" alot.
4seven also commited butchering, one night they were showing late night Simpsons repeats and they were STILL edited.
I'm guessing the people at Channel 4 Television have something against US Sitcoms.
Channel 4 skipped 'The One with the Free Porn' entirely, which was a little silly as it contained a crucial development in the Ross and Emily storyline. Comedy Central have shown it since they took over broadcasting it.

I’m sure they showed it once, maybe twice when they premiered Friends at 9:00pm, but certainly from the repeat runs on Channel 4 and E4 it was always omitted. Funny considering it was the whole build up to the Friends cast going to London storyline, which I believe Channel 4 had some influence over.
