Apologies if this has already been posted or referred to, but I find this break filler caption from 1986 interesting as it works on the same basis as the current idents, albeit a still image - took a while for me to cotton on that the roads in the picture make up a '4'!

I think the new idents are great pieces of film but the logo is even harder to spot than in the earlier idents. The '4' in the airfield ident is especially difficult to spot.

Are the break bumpers in HD?

Seemed to be a very small playout problem just then. At the end of the third break in Coppers there was a Chris Moyles trailer which was followed by the Coppers holding slide with the animated 4 background for about 4 seconds before we got the Honda sponsorship and the programme continued as normal.

This is new, isn't it?

It topped and tailed a Coca-Cola advert during Come Dine with Me this evening.

That's very nice indeed.

That would have looked nice as a possible Christmas break-bumper. Smile

That appeared in a few ad-breaks prior over the past week or so actually promoting the advert 'premier' date and time. Channel 4 certainly like to innovate when it comes to advertising.

The irony of course being that Coca Cola's "Snow Globe" has been online for weeks now, so won't be new to many people. Laughing

I like "The New Angle" that they've come up with for Channel 4's current branding. It's given the idea a new lease of life without detracting from the original concept.
