Apparently they will be adding some new idents to the selection in 2-3 months, one of them will involve Blackpool
My source? Someone from the class below me at college (well not anymore since I've left) apparently went to help them film it tonight, I don't know if he really has, but he isnt one to make stuff up

Apologies if this has already been posted or referred to, but I find this break filler caption from 1986 interesting as it works on the same basis as the current idents, albeit a still image - took a while for me to cotton on that the roads in the picture make up a '4'!

Isn't that just a still from the programme, and hence a bit of a coincidence?

This might have already been posted, but one of my friends on Twitter just posted this link. It's the promo Vimeo video by Rudd Studio who made the new idents: http://vimeo.com/16186586

Is it just me, or do the first few planes in Aeroplane Graveyard look flat, like their fuselages are just stood-up cutouts? It's still the best of the new ones, but none of them are as good as the originals - none of the 4s really pop out of nowhere.

I don't think it was merely a coincidence - there is no '4' log in the top corner, which they normally only omitted if there was a '4' elsewhere on the slide/caption in some shape or form. I was just illustrating that they were using a similar idea for this caption almost 20 years before this style of ident was introduced. It's nothing spectatular, and bear in mind it's very unlikely many 'regions' even got to see it!
