Well, seeing how badly they treat their 4:3 shows, I don't have hopes for the channel and legacy comedy shows. Depending on someones mood, the 4:3 programme is either stretched horizontally or cropped to 16:9 cutting off the top and bottom and text and peoples faces are missing/distorted as a result.
Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond and Cheers are mostly 4:3 and they go out on Channel 4 untampered with. It's a shame they don't apply that across the whole network.
According to someone on digital spy core 4 forums have suggested the 4music could become a comedy channel.
“Channel 4 are in discussions to rebrand 4 music into a comedy based channel launching in 2020 current names floating around for the cannel are 4fun, 4laughs, comedy4, EFun, ELaughs they are currently asking people's opinions on these names and for their own suggestions.”
A new channel for taskmaster to be repeated 1000 times.
The last time that I ever even bothered noticing (which was ages ago), More4 seemed to be essentially "Come Dine With Me 24" and E4 was essentially "The Big Bang Theory 24". Whether those are still valid assessments, I have no idea.
That sort of thing seems to be true of various multichannel stations. No wonder that my linear television viewing habits still barely stretch beyond the five legacy analogue-era channels.
