Now why am I imagining the sheep in Animal Farm bleating "Sixteen-to-nine good, four-to-three bad"? Embarassed

Haven't they stopped with the DVDs?

They started them again.

Channel Four to lose significant advertising revenue, knock on effects on BT Sport and UKTV as both sell their space via C4.

Get the interval music ready. Wink

Actually, when *did* C4 last play music when they couldn't show ads? I assume this practice largely died out when they started selling the advertising themselves in '93.

I assume they were playing out the filler from C4 pres until 93 changes.

How long before that was the last occasion the filler ended up on air is a different question!

It wasn't that they 'played music when they couldn't show ads'... they played music at every ad break.

The ads were put in by the ITV companies so it was there in case they hadn't sold the space or had a fault

The practice of playing out break-fillers ended on 31st December 1992, and I’ve seen footage of a full commercial-free break from 22nd December 1992, so it seems some of the smaller regions still couldn’t fill all the ad breaks as late as that!

Markymark, DE88 and Steve in Pudsey gave kudos

Was the reason because of the low viewing figures of the channel or because of the high rates for the slots? Did the regional itv companies then get a cut of the advertising revenue?
