There xmas ident only before xmas programmes. Just like last year.
I'm pretty sure the Christmas idents were shown before all programmes last year it was just closer to Christmas Day. I don't recall seeing Channel 4 man at any point over the Christmas period.
People are doing a lot of reading into that one tweet. Just because something was posted by the social media account of a broadcaster in response to people pestering them for pres launch details, it doesn't guarantee it'll be correct. They can make mistakes or be given wrong info internally too, and an interest like ours is probably considered a lower priority for viewer enquiries than making sure details around the programmes are correct.
They're using festive endboards around some trailers at the moment, but from all the junctions I've recorded I've spotted no idents go out yet - not even before Christmas shows.
Yes, generally over the last couple of years C4 have played their idents around the Christmas shows, then regularly closer to the time, which IMO is the best compromise between getting them out early and holding them back. C4 seem to now get most their Christmas specials out in early-December anyway.
