Older basic Freesat boxes certainly had a manual tune feature, don't know if the newer Freetime ones do.

It’s an EU requirement I think ?

It seems that C4HD vanished from the Freesat EPG shortly after 13:00hrs today ?

It's still FTA on a non-Freesat receiver.

(I guess I'll have to switch TV Headend to the Sky EPG for C4HD now...)

Yes, the Freetime boxes do have the option to tune in channels manually, but (on my Humax box, anyway) hidden away in the menus and deliberately clunky.

I thought that Channel 4 had brought back the old Simpsons Ident from 2004-15.
But they’re actually showing the episode where it appears as the couch gag.

Did the 4 form up at the end or was it removed?

It didn’t form up, but obviously you can still see the outlines of the roads and such making it out.

Here's the Channel 4 version:

I always thought that ident looked like what the animators produced after having the concept of the time poorly explained to them over the phone.

"Yeah, so, like stuff just sort of makes a 4, right?"

"So, what, like houses with lights?"

"Yeah, exactly."

I noticed Channel 4 seemed to show the 12 o'clock ident for the lunchtime summary today, even though it was at 1pm...

Oh no! A mistake like that is completely, utterly inexplicable. I'm storming into Channel 4's HQ tomorrow to complain about this appalling mess...

See how being one hour off isn't the end of the world?
