I'm already missing the previous set.

Channel 4 just played out a special ident into First Dates that promotes Robot Season. It's essentially one of the '4' blocks and a smartphone introducing a show. (in a conversational robotic voice)

is it the same as the promo Endbroads for the promos?

Its popping up all over this place, just used going into the Simpsons. Might be worth keeping an eye out this evening for more.

I see that the falling 'snow' blocks are back for Kirstie Allsopp's Christmas programme trailer, but as I only caught it out of the corner of my eye on E4, it looked slightly different.

The animation is slower, a slightly different colour, and there are '4s' in the initial drop:

Not seen that promo yet. Has anyone else seen The robot will see you now? I can't believe how far this programme is pushing the basic levels personal relationships.

It looks like the snowing blocks are back!

They've returned in the Christmas Trailers. I'm not certain but that gives hope the same Christmas Idents will be used this year. As nice as Blocky is I think he needs a rest already.

But.. nothing for sure yet so we'll have to wait and see

Hmm... the fact E4 haven’t still haven’t ran an esting competition this year (and it’s very likely there won’t be one this year due to the Christmas etc., even though there should’ve been one due this year) makes me wonder if they’re not doing it because they’re getting ready for a branding refresh...

Possibly. E4 should be getting a refresh soon though - 5 years this set have lasted, although they are decent. A bit more of a C4 styled look should be in order me thinks.
