The split between C4 (and previously BBC) and Sky showing The Simpsons has always been interesting. I don't know what exactly is written in the contracts, but it seems there is a gentleman's agreement if nothing else that when C4 has an episode on, Sky won't show one and vice versa.
Similarly it seems that each channel agrees to have a certain season in rotation, the other channel will take it out of rotation. I don't know if that's still the case, I don't watch much Simpsons on either channel these days. I don't know if either are a hard and fast rule or not, as there are occasions when the channels overlap - often at Christmas when both channels put on marathons.
A long winded way of getting to the point, that perhaps there is something in the contracts that make it tough for Sky to do a non-stop FXX style marathon?
I wonder if they could do a Simpsons marathon akin to the US ‘every Simpson ever’ marathon (but obviously not every single one, only up to the part Channel 4 is licensed to) to bring attention to the channel. It’s something that I’m puzzled someone like Sky haven’t done sooner, who could make a pop up channel for it etc
