I must be in the minority who doesn't mind them at all. In fact, as a TV Forum member, sometimes the logo is nice to admire as a work of art. Providing it's not garish like the music channels or have useless promos in the adjacent corner, of course. It's ironic that Sky hide their DOGs yet there's are some of the more tolerable ones on our screens.
Hopefully soon. Never understood why a forum of press fans dislike DOGs so much. A DOG has never ruined the enjoyment of a programme for me.
It's graffiti. Do you leave the manu
It has for many of us. For me a DOG on TV is like listening to the radio with someone constantly whispering 'You're listening to Radio 4' every 10 seconds...
An example of this is MTV (the main channel), which used to always include a DOG for the programme name, but this is now only used occasionally. They also now remove the DOG completely during films.
You also don't see many DOGs on film channels.
In France, it's common for broadcasters to remove bugs when showing a film.

People need to accept that it's 2017, logos are onscreen everywhere including Youtubers. People make GIFs from reactions from TV shows, etc... having a bug is an indirect promotion. As long as it's reasonably transparent, then I'm not bothered by it.
I don't mind DOGs like the ones we have now. In the late 90s/early 00s some were very distracting, such as ITV2's which was grey (christened by Andrew Wiseman as 'Smudge').
I'm just glad Channel 4 have had a eureka moment with the realisation they have a fantastic brand and they should use it.

I don't think they've really gone that far though (yet). The '4' now appears fully formed but it's only for a brief moment before it gets broken up, both on the break bumpers and the trail endboards. They could go a lot further.
I'd like to see more idents in the style of the break bumpers with just the blocks, like their brill Christmas idents.
