Channel 4 has had DOGs in the past. T4 is a good example of this.
I believe Channel 4 is doing well with the second phase of the branding, because it makes MORE sense for the Channel 4 logo to appear, rather than being missing. Having a DOG on the main channel is something Channel 4 has not done in forever, considering that Channel 5, ITV, etc. have been doing it for a while now.

Hopefully never.
So, when will BBC 1 and 2 bring back in their DOGs, or are they saving that for 2018 when BBC 1 hopefully gets rid of that god awful oneness crap, BBC 2 finally get a new look and maybe even something new for BBC 4.
Hopefully never.

I think broadcasters know that viewers don't particularly like DOGs, which is why some have either made them smaller or removed them (either partially or completely).
An example of this is MTV (the main channel), which used to always include a DOG for the programme name, but this is now only used occasionally. They also now remove the DOG completely during films.
Another example is E!, which used to always include a programme name DOG, but this is rarely seen now.
You also don't see many DOGs on film channels.

Why say "hopefully soon" then? Surely its abscence isn't ruining programmes for you either, so why need to hope they add one?
Hopefully soon. Never understood why a forum of press fans dislike DOGs so much. A DOG has never ruined the enjoyment of a programme for me.

In France, it's common for broadcasters to remove bugs when showing a film.

It has for many of us. For me a DOG on TV is like listening to the radio with someone constantly whispering 'You're listening to Radio 4' every 10 seconds...
