They still have those slides? I thought they stopped using them when they split from ITV in 1993. You'd think a generic "technical fault" slide would be used nowadays, based on the main presentation (i.e. the trailer endboard style).

I doubt it was a 'slide' and I doubt even more it dated from the 90s!

It was from the current pres package; purple blocks on a green background. I think what he was referring to was the garish colours looking like it was something from the 80s.

I remember seeing that slide making a brief appearance a couple of hours before the current C4 look launched.

An F-Bomb dropped an hour or so ago on Channel 4 gets replaced on +1 with this (sorry for quality, just grabbed my phone and took a quick shot):


The blocks do move, but nothing too exciting here. There is no +1 DOG either with this slide.

Really hate it when they edit such things out of the +1 channel - and even if they have to surely they could have just dropped the sound for a second.

They can't exactly leave it in, they can't knowingly broadcast it in that manner. As for dropping the sound, that really is a bit of a faff that would require somebody actively monitoring the output. The channels simply aren't designed to be run in that way. I know it's a bit inconvenient but I completely understand why they just blank the show.
