Have C4 used the Christmas idents exclusively over the last week or so or have the regular ones been used too. All the shows I've seen have had the Christmas idents, but they've mainly been Christmas specials so not surprising.
Has there been any developments on the potential privatisation of C4 lately?
When I went to a panel discussion on public service broadcasting in London before Christmas with the likes of Lord Puttnam and Greg Dyke (former DG at the BBC), Dyke was very much under the impression that a deal for the BBC's next charter has already been done with the Government. His belief was that, in return for the BBC having to foot the bill where licences for the over-75s were concerned, the government would proceed with the privatisation of Channel 4 (in the same way that, according to Dyke, during Margaret Thatcher's era, the Conservatives put up the ITV franchises for sale in the early 1990s in return for not commercialising / allowing advertising on the BBC - which Thatcher's government originally wanted to pursue). The panel were adamant - and I have to agree with them - that this would not be a good thing for Channel 4.
They avoided using any of the idents leading into The Jump, instead just using a shot of the mountains with a large 20 second countdown (white text on a teal rectangle) in the middle as they went straight from the end of The Incredibles into The Jump.
