Despite the fact his style is a poor imitation of the late Patrick Allen in the first place...

Which then transcended and became its own 'Voiceover Man' alterego used on multiple channels. So it's a bit better than a one off random immitation. At least Peter's version was in homage, not just a cheap fix.

It's the same Patrick Allen rip-off from what I can hear, and still very different from his past work.

An homage out of which he's made a lot of money. And it seems that he doesn't like anyone else paying homage either.

Personally, I think he's way overused, and the whole sound is getting a bit stale now. It's a shame broadcasters can't be a bit more imaginative and original with their choice of voiceovers.

I seem to recall he also got his knickers in a twist when the BBC One show Totally Saturday used a similar 'homage'.

Well to be fair to him, he does a lot of stuff for free. Probably not big shows like X Factor etc, but quick trails and online stuff he does just for fun. He isn't the tight sod being made out on this forum. Laughing

Less of a tight sod, more of a hypocrite.

Certainly has an air of biting the hand that feeds, but then he's made quite a business out of his impersonation of Patrick Allen's voice so its understandable he's be annoyed about the poor imitations out there.

I read it was meant to be this week, but now it will launch on the 12th.

Which makes you wonder why they didn't hold off an extra week considering the biggest influx of new characters will be in the week from the 19th - so will they put them in the titles from the 12th or have a set which run for just a week or two.

EDIT: Titles have now been delayed another couple of weeks.

Channel 4 went straight from Come Dine with Me in to Undercover Boss without an ad break this evening. There wasn't even an ident, the CA introduced Undercover Boss over the end credits of Come Dine with Me which was immediately followed by the Undercover Boss sponsorship.
