Channel 4

Kinda surprised they didn't rebrand tonight.

I get the impression these days that no one at C4 remembers 1982, and possibly weren't even born then

Might have been a good move to use the original blocks a few times, it kind of half explains the current idents. Although I guess 33 isn't that big an anniversary.

Um, you guys, I think C4 may have ditched the Simpsons ident.
They just played the miners ident before an episode and it's quite weird, really.

Just saw a Hollyoaks sting before Hollyoaks today.
Features 3 blocks with Hollyoaks cast member photos on them.

Just like how they wouldn't always play the Simpsons ident from the previous package before The Simpsons, right?

I think you'll find that was just indecision on whether to scrap that particular ident or not.

Or realising people might get tired of the same ident introducing the same programme every day.

C4 now airing a trailer for the corporation as a whole using the All 4 / C4 Corporation branding with the channel logos emerging on the blocks dedicated to each service. Looks so much better than what C4 the channel has ended up with IMO, and really not a great idea IMO to have different branding for the main channel compared to the family in C4's sake, where the other channels are very much off-shoots of C4.

How often is the scary dancing man ident used? I haven't seen it at all since being able to watch TV this last week?

To be honest, I'm surprised that they haven't shown it that much since the rebrand launched.
Maybe Channel 4 is starting to listen to its viewers for once. Maybe they'll end up scrapping the idents altogether and replace them with newer, audience-friendly ones like those block stings for an example.

The only ones I find before anything I record is the mining one (though never in full) and the sciencey one where I still don't know what is actually happening.
