Does anyone know why the countdown app isn't avaliable in the iTunes App Store? It's still showing strangely on the ITV games website as avaliable to download but it keeps telling me it isn't avaliable in the UK.

Maybe. as has happened with some other apps, it could be suffering from iOS 8 issues and subject to temporary withdrawal?

Brookside is not coming back, but Jay Hunt appears to have hinted Channel 4 may be launching a new soap, or at least a 'drama-like soap', maybe a continuing year-round drama in the style of Casualty?

Quote:

"I would love to tell you something about that now, but I can't," Hunt was quoted by Broadcast as saying.

"We're not bringing back Brookside, but we... will have a drama announcement next week."

They definately need more drama and more drama people actually watch, so something in a weekly slot for a substantial run every year (though preferbly not all year) would be a good move. Probably more of a replacement for Shameless than Brookside which was 22 episodes a year towards the end and treated pretty much like a soap, suffering accordingly.

Channel 4 has some weird breakbumpers at the moment, a blue background with an object (cheese?) in which a hand squeezes.

Its to promote a new gay drama, I believe.

It's a gay drama by Russell T Davies called Cucumber. Quite a few well known people in it, Julie Hesmondhaugh & Andrew Hayden-Smith being 2. Supposed to be more racy than Queer As Folk. That's me tuning in then Laughing

So Andrew went back to acting then? Last I heard he was a CA.

He's still a CA for ITV2, glad to see him back with acting too though.

Interestingly, it seems that Good Food are repeating the previous week's Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose, which goes out on Channel 4. Does anyone know how this arrangement has come about?
