Did anyone catch the new series of CR last night? New host Laurence Llanelli Bingbong is going to take some getting used to, but I wondered what everyone thought of the new steadicam shots of the completed rooms....

I thought it looked more like Home Front than Changing rooms.....

And at the end, I wasn't too sure but I got the feeling that the yellow team didn't like their room!!!! Har Har Har!

Dont think they are stedi-cam shots, but probably a mini-jib (small counterbalanced crane) for those sweeping Home Front-style shots of the reveal.

Lawrence is doing a fine job. What a monstrosity to come out of Anna Ryder-Richardsons head last night. That was *awful*.

Nice new titles though.

I loved the new shots of the completed rooms. At least you can actually see the different things in the room in relation to everything else.

It now seems that this show has finally got some class, and notice that now there is no budget of 500 quid, but Anna still cocks it up!!!

On the bright side, the painted floorboards looked brilliant! And as for Ana ignoring the fact the yellows didn't like pink etc, well shame on her! Evil or Very Mad

All they gotta do now is get rid of Handy Andy! Get JJ or Phil from House Invaders to do it, they are much, much better at the job then he is! Wink

Yes!! It was about time they got rid of those old, cheaply made titles. I noticed that they kept the old logo though. Talking of Home Front - whatever happened to that Tessa Shaw???????????????

Think she went off after having her baby. Besides, Lawrence and Dermot effectively doubled the viewers so she wouldnt have had her contract renewed. She always looked like she was going to burst into hysterical laughter anyway.

Oh yeh..i think she was pregnant...I quite liked her in an odd sort of way though.
Anyway I loved the old music. Home Front in the Garden was great too.
But when it went to an hour long - it got ridiculous.

Oh no, I thought the hour long Home Fronts were fantastic. In a TV world full of cheap DIY shows full of people in godawful houses, it's nice to see a show that makes over rooms and gardens on such a big scale and with an ounce of taste. Home Front may be pompous and up itself, but so am I, so it is therefore fab.

Me too - I loved watching the rich people with disposable incomes throwing their money at Dermot to concrete over your garden.

I loved Home Front too, but I could never watch it without bursting into tears everytime Jocasta Innes came on (Don't know why, maybe something about the name Jocasta).

And there was a women with a very strange accent indeed, Anne Mckevitt I think. Even now I am unable to establish exactly where this woman came from.

I also agree that the old theme tune was excellent!

But one small thing, I think the Gardener's name is written Diarmud instead of Dermot.....he'd have your throat out with a set of shears, if you wrote it "Dermot"....

They MIGHT do.

But they would be FAR more likely to reply if your request was in the "Requests" forum, where it belongs.
