Been a few changes in the last few days to BBCi text, with an improved Travel Section and changes to the TV Listings.

The TV channels are now all listed in one group on p600, with 24 hr listings for all channels including Top Up TV. Strangely though Bloomberg and Teachers TV still positioned in the 40s even though the rest are lined up with their new EPG numbers. Listings are now much more detailed too.

Also, strange really considering Ceefax have axed it's film choice page, but on BBCi p522 you now get a full guide to films on TV.

Club 440 on TTxt on 4 went from 440 to 140 to 380 (renamed ACE) and now shifted to 340, albeit cut from 10 to 5 pages. Thank god MegaZine is still there.

I remember when that section use to be on P340 on ITV and that was the kids and teens section combined into one section. The mummies complained to the ITC when their youngest would be able to view Turner the Worm right next to a 14 year having problems not having big enough boobs lol

So shortly after the move to Channel 4, the section was split into two. Poor old Teletext having an identity crisis in the first few months. They put what was similar on ORACLE on Channel 4 to ITV and vice versa. They soon realised that having the news section on Channel 4 to be a problem when the station would close down at night!

So its the last day of Chatterbox today. From tommorow the new entertainment comments section sounds bizzare. People talking about EastEnders and the latest chart hits all on the same page!

Well, Turner The Worm has been with Teletext from the very first day. I didn't think it was a kids cartoon at first when Turner managed to grow arms from accidentally playing in chemical waste! All this in the first week of the Cartoon but that was in the days when the kids and teens pages were rolled into one ten page section.

The section got split into two (with thanks to the ITC) for the fear of mummies getting worried over the 3 year reading about a 14 year boy who is growing breasts or sommat lol

There was also the adult version: Turner The Screw which appeared on their short lived 'After Hours' adult service.

It's not as extreme as when Ceefax got rid of all their non-news/information sections many years ago (this was at the same time that they split it into 6 magazines - 100 news, 200 business, 300 sport etc). The service ended up very dull for a few years : http://teletext.mb21.co.uk/gallery/ceefax/main2.shtml
It was only in the mid 90's that they broght in Backchat and the like

I think it's been mentioned elsewhere in this thread that Chatterbox, the Vibe and Backchat are being put to rest but a new general comments page will be in it's place.

Ah yes the short lived After Hours service which only lasted a few months after complains made to the ITC. Probably a very small petty few. Adult services never seem to last long on Teletext. ORACLE tried an adult page which was available after 9pm on a Friday night around 1990 me thinks and that lasted a couple of editions.

Wasn't happy at all the day Ceefax went **** in 1989 when as you say, it was broken into 6 sections. How I missed the Funtime on 2 pages as a 11 year old with Reg the Octopuss cartoon. Backchat was a welcome addition around 1993/4 on the Newsround service as it was the only thing worth reading and this was a couple of years before the big 1996 relaunch.

The Teletext "Entertainment" section on p140 now says it'll have a "New Look" from tomorrow, but doesn't give any details.

Hopefully it'll be basically pages of entertainment news, so all the TV News moved from TV Plus isn't mixed in with music and film on p141/2.

I think it's now time Teletext began restructuring their analogue service in advance of it closing in a few years. I certainly think some sections, such as the Premiership pages, should become digital only as a way of promoting the Teletext digital service.

Well, the "new look" Teletext Entertainment section has launched - and unfortunately it's just that - a new look! No changes to concent at all!

It's not that good IMO, I had a quick dabble on Teletext on ITV ( DTT) earlier, Entertainment has moved to Pg800, then I went to Pg800 and that was only displaying the usual content on Entertainment News on Pg141/2, TV Guide etc.

Teletext can now be accessed on More4 and E4 on Freeview.

Have to have a look at that. Can someone upload some caps!

I presume it isn't on E4+1 with it being on a different mux, but perhaps if C4 could strike a deal that once the sixth slot on Mux C becomes available to have E4+1 and More4+1 on the same Mux it might be worthwhile.

I also presume it's not on Quizcall.

EDIT: Just had a look. The background is the same with the 3D C4 logo, but the "Teletext on 4" logo is altered for each channel. The E4 logo looks OK in white, but the C4 and More4 logos don't at all!
