Changes to Teletext page numbers - Nov 15

And now the BBC axe Chatterbox (p2) (October 2005)

I notice on Teletext there is set to be some changes with the page numbering - with TV Plus set to lose half it's pages!

TV News moves from p131-3 to p141-2 in the Entertainment section, with Pick of the Day, a daily feature and soaps taking the vacated pages. A new horoscopes section launches on p135.

Entertainment, Weather and Travel will all be appearing on C4 (same pages as ITV), with the Cricket pages on C4 being axed. Entertainment will be available on Five p190.

The entertainment pages in the 300s are being expanded to include more listings information. Games moves to p305, Events to p370 and Ace to 340.

Pages being axed include the entire Kids section, World of Work, Crimestoppers and Chess. Bamboozle and Suduko move to p390 and p391 on C4. Connect moves to C4 p170.

News and Sport still won't be available on C4 (analogue) - and even though the C4 programme pages have been rejigged to cover p400-454, nothing has appeared in the late 400s.

Talking of Teletext on 4- does anyone know if it plans to launch on More4 and E4? IIRC when Teletext first appears on C4 it was also mentioned it be available on More4 - and as ITV can do different logos for each of their channels, no reason why we couldn't have Teletext on E4 and Teletext on More4!

P.S. Teletext on 4 has a new look - more details further down the page!

No! Is this the end for Turner the Worm?
Pity. That and Turner's Teaser have been around for yonks now.

Well, Turner The Worm has been with Teletext from the very first day. I didn't think it was a kids cartoon at first when Turner managed to grow arms from accidentally playing in chemical waste! All this in the first week of the Cartoon but that was in the days when the kids and teens pages were rolled into one ten page section.

The section got split into two (with thanks to the ITC) for the fear of mummies getting worried over the 3 year reading about a 14 year boy who is growing breasts or sommat lol

I'm pretty sure it'll be out on an interactive DVD by Christmas.

Maybe for some of you, but in the Westcountry it's little more than 2 years away!

ASFAIK, It's still there on p140 (but moving to p390 from 15 November), and there's also a version of it carried on the digital-only version of Teletext on ITV (p578 on all ITV digital channels), which uses the Up/Down and OK buttons on your digital remote to select an answer instead of using the coloured fastext buttons.

There are plans, and all being well it'll be before the year is out. Anymore than that I can't say.

Teletext on 4 has now been revamped on Freeview.

It's blue in the same style as Teletext on ITV, with a huge C4 logo in the background. The Teletext on 4 logo though looks like a dodgy cut and paste job!

The fasttext links have been changed as well, with coloured dots and white text. "Index" and "Go to TV" have been replaced by "A-Z" and "Back".

Trouble at the moment is you can't exit the service! It seems much quicker though. No major changes in content as far as I can see, though FilmFour listings and "Now and Next" have disappeared from the TV Guide. Unlike ITV, the TV guide only covers C4 stations.

And it's still not on More4 or E4, but I suspect the changes make it likely to appear soon.
