Changes to E4 presentation

Quite a few idents are available on the usual TV sites, but not much about E4's general presentation.

Just wondering about any changes resulting from the changes to C4 - most notably the ECPs and the end caps. As the end caps now have the C4 logo placed on live, I suppose the E4 logo can be added to programming live now as well.

Also, the trailers. The C4/E4 trailers are quite nice, but when ER began on E4, they used a purple and white one with the E4 at the top and C4 at the bottom, using the E4 font - something I've not seen since!


Finally, the trailers for "It's a 9 thing" are great - and could make fantastic idents!

When watching E4 I haven't seen that many trailers, just the new ones for programmes on E4 and C4 with as you said the E4 (on an angle, looks quite nice) and the C4 blocks on the purple background.

The normal end caps are the usual at the bottom of the screen, they still have the flying sequence with Friends, Ally Mcbeal, Sex & the City and Graham Norton (how old now?).

And are still using the band idents.

It's nice for them to change the idents now and then, but I'd like something to change over the whole package, though I haven't a clue what they would do with E4 based on the current C4 idents.

My favourites are still the bouncing E4's which had longevity in my opinion. And then there are the wonderfully created break bumpers, which appear now and then with the Robot, the Mashetti man, the dog on the grass, etc.

The original E4 idents were great and dumped far too early.

As for a set to match the current C4 look - they've already had them with the E4's made out of gravy and mash, bra fastenings, key rings etc.

Yeah I suppose and see what you mean. I like how they try and keep it fresh, but with strong idents like those, was there any reason to dump them at the time? Especially since then we've seen the staring at the camera shots (quite clever in writing I suppose to turn when the announcer speaks) and now the band playing everywhere.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else on here, but yesturday E4 updated it's presentation, as in non idents.

They've ditched the flying screens for a new animation. It's basically a container shaped as the 4 with the front falling off to reveal two E4 logos (one on the container as such, and the other on the floor).

They've also update the endboards in similar fashion.

The idents and the esketches have stayed though.

Interesting - any caps?
