I wonder if it's anything along the lines of...

Good send off there... they deserved it, ofcourse Simon and Angellica both worked on many projects. Angellica was on Short Change, and both of them worked on The Saturday Show.

Edit: Charlie... read the thread. There wont be virtual presenters. Gemma will present from a 'new digital set' as they described it on air.

Just uploaded about 30 seconds of CBBC continuity with Otis the Aardvark from December 1998:

I've also got all the links from Ana's last day, when loads of past CBBC presenters (including Otis) returned to wish her goodbye, from the 31st August 2001 - also the last weekday before CBBC redesigned their studio and began transmitting in widescreen, cropping 4:3 programmes as a result. Also have the revealing of the new studio from the following Monday.

I liked the one in Studio 10 they had, but 9 was the real home of CBBC, that long shot of that set looked a bit bland.

nah - NC1 Con was the real home of CBBC

The alternative of course would be to browse TV presentation websites for this type of thing. Such as...

http://thetvroom.com/old/p-cbbc-past-a.shtml

...from where that particular CBBC clip has been pinched.

Other than slagging off TV Room and TV-Ark, I wonder does anyone on here actually browse the content?!?

The number of links to material on YouTube that has been lifted off TV pres websites and presented by users on here (a TV presentation forum) as a marvellous find is becoming extremely annoying for those of those who actually invest a lot of our personal time providing websites for people like you.

Dont be expecting anything 'brand new' as this will be the christmas ident for this year. I have seen it for my self. It animates into a christmas tree.

Great spin on the current look, looks pretty good.

However, why do CBBC keep launching idents and studios seperately? Surely it would be better to do it all at once, than to change it in parts?

Although I don't run a website, I can understand the annoyance, a memeber on YouTube by the name of 'AidanLunn' has completely ripped almost every BBC1 Closedown clip available on the Net, which includes your site Mike, a clip I uploaded onto the PP is also a victim. I find it very annoying especially when you go to the effort, if you want to watch to your heart's content, I don't mind thats what I did it for, but I don't like it when people use it for their own credit or gain.

To be honest I think something should be done about it. I suppose you could always let YouTube know.

Cheeky sod - I remember him e-mailing regularly to ask if we had this or that and now I know why he wanted it. I'll have a few choice words if I hear from Aidan again.

If they are going to be in a VR studio and with basically one presenter no doubt the links will be recorded once a week and played out as live

They've been cutting back on the continuity links for years now, especially on Saturday mornings

They should just go back to basics and have a broomcupboard set up, it still works for Milkshake, and if they use presenters with personalities, there's no reason why it wouldn't work

Indeed it does, it would be a similar amount of space in a green screened room as it would be to put in a desk, or chair, or whatever small studio type set it would be.

It doesn't even have to be a desk, look at The Core on channel 5 if anyone can remember it, Kate McIntyre hosted it (and the previous unnamed link show with circular faces as the theme) from a simple chair with backdrop and laptop for emails.

In fact look at puffin's pla(i)ce, they still use a continuity booth to do their show. I'm not a fan of the set used now, but the previous was great.
