Doubt they will be going back to Red Bee considering the current set will only have lasted 2 years if they're scrapped in Autumn. All the others lasted much longer than this set.
This set was only ever meant to be temorary for 6 months at the most. It was when Alison Sharmon came in and wanted the bugs to go pretty much straight away. Anyway, she left and the "proper" relaunch delayed by a year or two...
You know, when I saw those, I always thought they looked temporary.
But why get rid of the bugs anyway? I think they still had a while left in them.

and not go straight to Red Bee considering this:

Although not bad, I think these just lack something that all of the other have.

Yes, I think so too. I believe she just didn't like them, but then why leave CBeebies as it was? It makes a mockery of this value for money thing if they are going to use money to have a new set of idents and logo and website if it's all going to be in vein in 6 months time anyway...
So if plans were in place for a big relanch when she left, I wonder if work had already started on the new brand package and is therefore already finished (which I presume also included CBeebies). If the temporary package went to Red Bee, I imagine the big rebrand could also have been heading in Red Bee's direction then as well.

Can I ask a small question?
Yes?
Why does everybody go to Red Bee?

Red Bee are an award winning production company with a specialism in television channel presentation, branding and promotion.
Oh ... and before it was sold off, it was BBC Broadcast (and before that BBC Broadcasting & Presentation and before that the BBC Presentation department) ... of which CBBC Presentation was once a part!
I'm sure loyalty plays an important part in their chosing Red Bee to redo their on screen presentation package.

Does this sound like a certain escapade with a particular red hot air balloon and a Ms Heggessey?
And this is the same Red Bee that was responsible for the banal ident set on the Discovery Channel, and the rubbish that was the Jan-Nov 06 ITV1 set. Oh, yes, and they bleeped up the CBBC bugs.

(By the way, it wasn't me who said that quote)
I think that loyalty should not stand in front of quality branding. The quality of Red Bee/BBC Broadcast/this design company has dropped recently, and it is quality which is what matters.
They may have been good a while back, but there are so many companies to choose from, why does it seem to automatically go to Red Bee...
Are the rest that bad?
