The little keyboard continued after the broom cupboard. I remember when the presenter was cueing a graphic, the screen went completely black, and he said "Oops, sorry, I've pressed the wrong button!"

I think it finally went when Studio 9 came in.

Yeah I can remember Kirsten sitting on the floor in Studio A with the keyboard - I think it was used for the birthday cards to cue the overhead camera generally and of course in Studio A they had that faux-broom cupboard area.

I'm not totally against the idea of doing it all in front of a CSO screen, it's something the kids (particularly the younger ones) wouldn't notice. I think the problem with the backdrop(s) is simply that the blue is cold and too similar to the idents.

That Studio A set was pretty big to say it was such a small studio - or was "Studio A" actually Pres A and Pres B combined?

I wouldn't be surprised. Pres A certainly seemed smaller when they previously used it for things like But First This and alike.

It wasn't a keyboard, then it was a small mini vision mixer, presumably as it was all self op she controlled the camera switching.

There was also a "desk" area (which they'd often present an entire slot from, such as Saturday mornings) when they moved to Studio 9, in fact I think this only disappeared in about 2003. Wasn't the last "desk" bit an old BBC News desk re-decorated, or was that just a rumour?

Yes that's right they used the desk area in Studio 9 mostly for the birthday cards. They got rid of it when they had that mini-relaunch just prior to the big relaunch and launch of the channel.

I think it was a rumour about the BBC news desk being re-used as the sushi-bar bit of the studio. It looked similar but unlike to have been a bit of recycling really.

With this new set up, they really need presenters like Matt Edmondson who gives viewers the information, but in a fun way.

I'm tiring of this format after under two weeks. Its just boring really.

Sorry for dragging up this thread as it was on the top of the third page.

As its outside, they're using the old garden props from just before this awful virtual studio I expect.

I thought that was her. Am I right in thinking that maybe the other two presenters were away, so she's a fill in?

Who are the actual presenters now?
(Apart from the one that appears on CBBC One).
JO
Joe
Gemma Hunt - CBBC One, some CBBC weekends and weekdays
Anne Foy - CBBC weekdays
Ayesha Levelup - CBBC weekends (apparently)

There's the other two, Barney Harwood and Jake Humphrey, but they're both involved in other CBBC projects, so don't do CBBC presentation.

Does anyone remember the name of a CBBC Channel presenter called Andrew Mc something? He only used to be on the CBBC Channel and was on around Easter time, I think. He was Scottish, if I remember correctly. Thanks
