If the regional news programmes are all getting relaunched it will be a shame to lose some of the sets and theme tunes. I expect they will lose their own theme tunes and adopt a corporate theme tune, maybe like the ITV national news theme tune.
I hope their will be a backdrop of the newsrooms or something, and if there is it will be the first time that Lookaround has had a proper backdrop and not just some plain colour.
I know what you mean. I've never seen Granada reports, but if Southampton's Meridian Tonight loses that fantastic music (and titles) I won't be very impressed - it's the "newsiest" news theme tune I know of, and it's brilliant.

But we don't know a thing about this relaunch, we don't know whether all programmes will have a uniform look or not, details are very sketchy at the moment. And it all seems to be happening so soon. We don't know whether they'll all have uniform titles, themes etc. I expect the programme names would remain.
Could somebody either change the topic title or start a new topic, as this is not about Granada Reports any more.

True, but from what i hear it does not sound promising, i wont be pessamistic, lets hope they dont nationalise it all
All ITV regional news progs will get a generic set of titles but featuring local scenes in them to match the national ITV News and the ITV News Channel.
I've heard that the newsprogrammes will still keep their original or current names just with ITV News in front of it instead
for example
Calendar will become ITV News Calendar
North E/T will become ITV News North East Tonight/Today
and so on.
But I would prefer if they used the regions such
ITV News Yorkshire
but what would they use for Tyne Tees, will they say Tyne Tees or North East
!
