I noticed they were on the new half hour things today, but the Promo's are getting really annoying when they're on for as long as 5 minutes. I was watching 8 Simple Rules at 5pm, I saw the last bit, then 5 minutes of Promos! And then the last 30 seconds of the programme, that were the Credits.
Also annoyed at abc1 as I didn't know that they started showing Series 2 of 8 Simple Rules today, I thought that was next week, it also didn't say this on the EPG either. The first episode, 'Goodbye Part 1' was very sad too, Pt 2 is supposed to be even more sad, no wonder they've rarely been shown on The Disney Channel.

Yep, had a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat through pt1. Shame as you say the EPG had no indication of the new series - just the usual starring the late John Ritter text.
Also, I'm sure it started at 1700, not the 1705 indicated on the Freeview EPG, though that may just have been my timing.

The NTL EPG is usually accurate with abc1, it said it was on at 5pm, but when I hit the Information button, it listed an episode from Series 1. Don't know whether abc1 is coming or going, as alot of wrong Schedule information has been given out, especially within EPG's and magazines such as Radio Times.

It seems strange they even bothered making widescreen idents, since none of their programmes are widescreen! Perhaps they are planning on soon bringing some new programmes made for HDTV which are widescreen in the US.

And quite annoyingly the idents are now in widescreen despite all programmes and promos being 4:3 - and they've not quite got the hang of ratio switching!

The feeling over on the DS forums is the idents have gone widescreen as the ads will be in widescreen, rather than 14:9 letterbox.

I couldn't help but notice that whilst watching 'Goodbye Pt 2' of 8 Simple Rules, I thought it was kind of inappropriate that they were showing Promos for S1 in between, that had the kids saying 'I Hate You' and similar things, whilst the episode on at 5pm has them all crying.
I realise that was said alot within S1, but it didn't feel right within the show tonight.

Some later seasons of programmes shown on ABC1 are made for HDTV in the states, so can be broadcast in widescreen on ABC1 when they eventually show them.

Just go onto ABC's website in the US and look at the programmes, the ones made in HD indicate if they are, such as the Third series of 8 Simple Rules is in HD. It would be interesting to see how abc1 would show a programme in 16:9, ie if they get it correct or how they position the DOG.
Also anyone notice the Technical Fault after tonight's 8 Simple Rules?

I believe it's being shown again on Sunday morning, along with Goodbye Pt 1, What Dad Would Want and The First Thanksgiving IIRC, someone has detail on DS Forum.
It also appears that abc1 and The Disney Channel have swapped with 8SR as Disney are now showing Series 1 where as abc1 are showing both.

The bloody weather knocked out our digital signal today - so couldn't catch part 2 of the Goodbye episode.
Anyone know if it's shown again - possibly at the weekend?
