Sorry to bring back an Old Thread, but this is more programme related rather than Presentation. Thanks to abc1 I have been enjoying '8 Simple Rules', but does anyone know when they're getting round to showing the second series? I don't know if it's a rights issue or something, as I've noticed tonight that The Disney Channel has gone back to the episodes from Series 2 after John Ritter's death, even though the night before they had that season's cliffhanger, as I was expecting them to go back to Series 1 or something.
Same goes for Home Improvement, they only seem to show the last 2 series of the programme.
I'm hoping this new schedule from Next week might bring in some changes, though still no adverts, though according to Digital Spy Forums, this IIRC will be at the end of March.

They already have started showing series 2. They've only shown the first 3 episodes though. The one where Bridgette breaks up with Donny via tape was the last episode with John Ritters. The "goodbye" episode is the most moving piece of tv i've ever seen, and the way the rest of the 2nd series shifts tone a bit and revolves around the family coping with their loss is incredibly well handled...but i'm afraid at the end of the day without John Ritters the show isn't half as good.

Not that I want adverts on ABC1, but should they have started by now?

If you look on Digital Spy's Forums, someone has posted a schedule from the end of March, where programmes are now in 30 minute slots, so I presume they must start then.
Going back to 8 Simple Rules, I have to agree with everything from the previous poster, it is a fantastic sitcom and since John Ritter died they have treated the subject very well IMO, and at times it becomes quite depressing, but it's still a good sitcom.
What I don't get is that abc1 shows the episodes until John Ritter's death which is a few episodes into Season 2, where as The Disney Channel shows the rest of Series 2, though no sign of Series 3 yet which is still being shown on abc in the States.

How has the channel been funded up until now then? Have Disney been paying for everything and not seen any return as of yet? or am I missing something.

If programmes are been fitted into half hourly slots, will General Hospital be broadcast over an hour, with reasonable advert breaks.
It currently broadcasts for 45mins, but this wouldn't fit into a half hourly schedule, would it?

It be interesting to see how they do the adverts.
They've already stated they won't be shown in programme junctions (i.e. between two programmes!)
So will they show them at the beginning and end (as the do with trailers!), or use the break point mid-programme.
I did look into OFCOM rules a while back, but although not 100% clear, I'm sure they only allow one internal commercial break in a 30 minute programme and three in an hour-long programme.
I've said here before I like the way ABC1 do things, going straight from one programme to the next - so I'd prefer two breaks in the programme. I guess they might put the first after the titles and the second at the mid-point, using the break before the credits for the Next sequence and promos.
