i wouldnt mind them going back to the start of the year when they were showing things like wheel of fortune, crystal maze and stuff in the day, then family fortunes, brucie's price is right, fort boyard, takeshi's castle, etc. I liked the play along stuff too. It seems that they must have had a new boss since that loves american imports and doesnt know how to schedule!
They don't seem to want to buy much more in the way of gameshows now, I'm sure they could pick up 'The Generation Game' or something, maybe the Brucie era or whoever did it between that era and when he did it in the first place. Surely there isn't a shortage of game shows and things?
I think they've changed their ethos to reflect the genres going out on mainstream TV today. That means less gameshows and more "reality" TV. I mean apart from Millionaire, Weakest Link and maybe the Vault, the gameshow seems not to be fashionable anymore at primetime and they've lost their place in the schedules.
It's a far cry fromt the days when the BBC & ITV schedules were jam packed with them.
Seeing as "Challenge" are showing the US version of "I'm A (D-List) Celebrity . . . ", that was on ITV2 a few months
ago, I wonder if they could also get the UK rights to US version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" before ITV2?
I wouldn't mind seeing that. IMO, It'd be good to see how Regis Philbin hosts it, in comparison with Chris Tarrant.
i think it should go back to the name "Challenge TV" As it was better then now its like Sugs and his show and other stuff which is not to good as well.

That was the great thing about challenge tv/challenge it was an entertainment channel that you could watch at any time and have something to watch, it was different to mainstream.
I think mainstream was stupid to get rid of gameshows, no wonder familys are how they are nowadays. All we see on prime time are lifestyle shows, dramas and soaps. How entertaining !
Though I must stick up for Challenge tonight, only one show was good, but it was excellent! The Takeshi's castle hour long show, it was great. It had me laughing for ages!
The premise was that general lee had taken over the castle and takeshi was trying to get it back with the help of his monster army which involved contestants dressed up in monster costumes, including a one manned horse, a massive elephant costume and a centiped thing containing three contestants in the one suit!
The thing was that because they were supposed to be monsters they were invinsible so the same ones kept coming back every round! I hope this is a series, not a one off. Though at the end takeshi and his army stormed the castle and succeeded with general lee left with purple gunk on his face and his speech to the camera!

Now there's something that Challenge could pick up when ITV have milked it for all its worth and dumped it - Millionaire. Although the credits might be an issue with the telephone numbers and that, and the fact that the 2001/2 eps are apparently stuck with the then end-credit generic look (the sidebar and smokey hearts thing), although the removal of all telephone and call-in details by Challenge would be the first thing to worry about.
As for US Millionaire - I wouldn't mind seeing it either, doesn't look as if ITV2 are going to get round to it like BBC Two did when they imported Weakest Link from America.
