The Late Show With David Letterman could also be watched in Canada by those people who receive CBS and the whole show was available online on the CBS website after broadcast (in the US only).

In case anyone cares the show is likely received by all Canadians who have cable and satellite. Cable and satellite companies will import different local stations from the US.

The late night shows have never taken off over here. I think even TruTV have moved Conan from 11pm to 1am, and Comedy Central Extra have recently dropped The Daily Show. Looking through the thread when Letterman was dropped, it appears I'm not the only one who doesn't find them particularly funny.

The Late Show set has made its way to the skip already. The marquee comes down next week.

Out of all of the late night shows Letterman has probably been on the most channels in the UK, Sky1, Paramount Comedy, ITV2, ITV4 and Diva to name a few. Considering it isn't shown in the UK it's had a lot of press today.

Quite surprised that James Corden's show hasn't been picked up by a UK channel yet.

Anyone know why he went out on a Wednesday?
Unless it makes the last show a nice round number of shows done, there doesn't appear to be a logical reason.

Would have thought Friday, with the last working day before the Memorial Day holiday would have been a better choice

(yes before I'm flamed - I know Fridays show is pre-rec'ed on Thursday, but as it would have been his last show - doubt it would have protested too much)

Going out on a Friday night in the US would be the equivalent of going out early on a Sunday afternoon here.

Blimey, they soon got around to dismantling and trashing the Late Show (not Late Night) set! I'd have thought they'd probably auctioned some of it off rather than destroying it much like the BBC did with props and equipment from the closure of TVC.

I'd hazard a guess that Dave's famous desk is being (or has already been) trashed and dumped in another skip. If it'd been possible, and if I could afford it, that desk would have looked good in my living room! Although I thought the same of the mock hotel reception desk that was part of the MTV Most Wanted set about 20 years ago ... that'll be long gone by now!

I notice (the now former) Late Show stage hand Pat Farmer in that first pic.

Forget Letterman's set, I want to know what ever happened to the Geoff Peterson robot from Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show set!

I believe he is still with Craig and the guy who voiced him.

Wow when they rip out a set they really don't care. All smashed up like that I bet Dave would be sad if he saw that. Guess thats showbiz for you. Also looks like the chairs of the audience have gone to. Looks like the Ed Sullivan Theater will have a complete refit. Mind you i bet it needs it.

Well it had been going for 30 odd years and despite it not being a part of our popular culture most people seemed to know of Letterman. Whether you like the show or not it really was the pioneer of the modern comedy chat show as we know it.

I doubt it ever will. Even with Corden it probably wouldn't rate any better than any of the others did cos..you know.. the Internet. Brit's who are interested in watching these shows already are.

Would actually suit Netflix or similar arguably more than a linear channel.
