Sky Sports currently doing an excellent job with their Champions League coverage. Nice to see Richard Keys and Andy Gray back in the studio, along with Alan Shearer and Ray.
Opening titles were tweaked 'official' titles and music. Also Sky are doing their version of the astons etc. The studio looks excellent.
6 live games tonight, available through Sky Sports Extra. Sky Sports 2 showing the biggest matches.
Parent A and I have been flicking between the ITV game and the Real Madrid game, and have so far been successful in missing every single goal at Old Trafford. It has now just become more comic than anything else.
To resolve the situation, I have hooked up the laptop PC card, tuned that into ITV and we've put the multi-screen thingummy up on Sky.
Are Sky doing their own tweak on the astons? II don't think so, they are basically the same as ITV, in any case, I'm quite disappointed, but I guess thats UEFA's fault, not Sky's, the most annoying thing is any on-screen graphics never stay for long enough, and although they have an animation in, they don't animate out, like the premiership coverage on Sky.
The scoreboard on Sky is very nice though!
Sky are pretty limited with presentation as they have to use the official titles, astons, team graphics etc but it looks ok, more classy than the usual whizz-bang, animating everywhere stuff they normally have.
Yeah it was weird that the Rangers game was 4:3. Maybe theyre showing everything in 4:3 so they're not having to show the majority of matches in pillarboxed 16:9.
I don't think any broadcaster has control over the astons, as the main football coverage feed already comes with UEFA astons on them, the only control Sky and ITV have is with the scoreboard and that's it!
Yeah, and they have to use or adapt the official graphics for their own use in the studio and stuff so they can't just use the normal Premiership graphics.
