Snake charmer?

First time it has been shown since Challenge has been on Freeview, I think. It will be around again in around a month.

Annoyingly they've censored it so Mr Chips' cane no longer breaks the frame of the bottom square, making the, er, charming, less obvious.

Right, I really wish they'd STOP editing around with the programmes! As if the channel hasn't become shoddy enough.

SORT IT OUT SKY!

I imagine this editing occurred before Sky took it over.

Yes this winds me up too, as if the butchering edits to BBC programmes for ad breaks weren't bad enough, the laughable censorship of what I'd class as mild bad language or "scenes of a suggestive nature", resulting in sections being broadcast either out of context or not at all, is both annoying and insulting to the programme.

Find an appropriate time slot or don't air it all as far as I'm concerned.

The continuity on Challenge is appalling too. They seem to have two or three pre-recorded generic announcements for each programme - some including annoying pro tips such as "the object of [Family Fortunes] is to think of the most obvious answer!".

I honestly don't know why they bother.

Nope Challenge have shown in full, unedited with no problems at all in the past.

A bit daft really, especially as it's quite highly watched on YouTube. Challenge have been known to edit Catchphrase episodes, mainly the later ones where on their ITV screenings had a competition at the start of them.

These deep edits started around 2008 under VMTV though. Crystal Maze was cut up to insert an extra break at one point too, although they seem to have abandoned these edits.

I believe all of Richard's episodes are in the original two breaks form, while all of Edward's episodes have been re-edited to the current style three breaks form.

Did anyone get a capture of this nonsense?

How badly was it edited? Challenge haven't exactly got a good reputation for their editing skills.

It's all about all programmes starting on the hour and half past now, so people can channel hop from one programme to another easilly, rather than how long the programme is actually meant to last.

Back in the early days The Crystal Maze ran in a slot of 1 hour 20 minutes!
