I am not sure people outside of the tabloid reading masses have an opinion on Michael Barrymore's personal life either way. Challenge have shown Strike it Rich regularly over the past few years. I'm not sure they have ever gone with Strike it Lucky but that may just be because they seem to have a habit of buying the most recent series of each programme rather than starting at the beginning.

Strike it Rich was made by Thames while Strike it Rich was made by LWT & Fremantle, and Thames wouldn't let them use the original name. There would be two sets of rights for Challenge to negotiate.

No: it should still one set of rights as Thames is now owned by Fremantle ( who also own the rights to strike the rich the usa version )etc

I wish there would Re-broadcast Strike it lucky again it was alright

I'd definitely like to see Strike It Lucky on Challenge. I used to love that show as a kid - rumour has it that as a four year old I used to do a terrific Barrymore impression saying 'awright at the back?', which I believe was my party trick Laughing I much preferred Lucky to Rich - if for nothing more than the theme tune.

Strike it Lucky has appeared on the challenge in the past. My favourite is a kids special where frank bruno appears inside one of the tellys.

The bulletin seems to cover the period up to August 1st. I expect it'll appear in the next one.

Nope... http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/enforcement/broadcast-bulletins/obb189/

There is a complaint about 8 Out of 10 Cats on Challenge that has not been upheld but nowt about the sponsorship of Fun House by Sky Bingo.

Ah well. It'd only have more-or-less the content of that letter. The complaint was actioned and resolved and Sky know to be more careful around such content.

A kids show sponsored by a gambling company? Thought that was illegal?

No, you are thinking of mass murder.

Both still have moral issues around them Wink

Here is what I do know from challenge:

* Bruce 70s Gem Game BBC said NO: Larrys version yes. ( No reply about jims version)
* Every second counts; its looks very dated: ( challenges words)
* Chain letters ( still have issues with the last 1997 series)
* TVS Catchphrase and All cluded up - Well blame Disney for that)
* Countdown - Ch4 SAID NO

Jim Davidson Generation Game wasn't spectacularly fantastic anyway, and apart from a handful of interesting concepts that were under developed, it became more of an excuse to throw gunge around at every opportunity with every series. Also remember Bruce Forsyth had two presenting stints at Generation Game, in the 1970s and the 1990s.

With regards to Every Second Counts, I dare say since it started in 1986 the very early episodes will look dated. I saw some (later) episodes on UK Gold many years ago.

All Clued Up has been aired on Challenge and/or Family Channel before. Your "blame Disney" argument every time you mention archive Catchphrase doesn't hold any water because you know full well it isn't an issue of Disney's making.

Other reason for the programmes include, too dated, or tapes are not in great condition, I do wonder what's happened to Small talk.

Rested? Not exactly the greatest game show ever made.

Im surprised there never gone after Michael Barrymore's My Kind Of Music, 90's Call my bluff, EVEN Better Full run of ITV dropped series Shafted!

My Kind Of Music isn't a gameshow in the true sense of the word. It really wanted to be Parky meets New Faces.
Shafted realistically isn't going to happen. ITV dropped it after 4 episodes. If it doesn't work on the biggest commercial network in the country, it probably ain't going to work on Challenge. Fortunately Robery Kilroy-Silk didn't host another gameshow. For that we should be grateful.

There's a very good excuse for My Kind of Music - Barrymore's name is mud, ever since that guy drowned in his pool. The only thing he's done since is Celebrity Big Brother, it didn't revive his career. This is likely also why Strike It Lucky/Rich isn't shown.

Strike It Lucky has been shown on Challenge before. The issues with regards to what happened with Michael Barrymore don't seem to be of any significance to Challenge because Strike It Rich (and its previous incarnation) were airing through the entire Barrymore charade and the airings of the show continue. I always thought he was a very good entertainer and gameshow presenter.

But yet other tv series like MTM shows have its paper work in better condition, I know its not all Disney fault but of course FOX network is also to blame, but the end of the day is Disney now owns it and can do nothing with it! and its only been sold twice, since TVS was brought out in February 1992 (Still would love to know WHY Flextech never brought Any tv series when there brought out IF channel in 1996)

I do think it may have a chance, ITV dropped I dare say for other reason, I do believe was never that bad. For challenge it could be cheap filler which could draw a few new people to watch it, you never know ( also when its appear itv1 was during its period of being a basket case and took years to get back on its feet)

People Versus is on Challenge's books, although I get the feeling this was thrown to them by 2waytraffic as a freebie when they ordered Classic Millionaire. It's actually a really decent programme. Not sure if they've ever showed the Kirsty Young version but I'd like to watch that again too. I'd like to see Shafted similarly.

The "guru" on the old forums mentioned that Big Break was unlikely to appear since Jim Davidson is well and truly out of public favour, that rules out Generation Show too. Don't see why BBC Worldwide would say no to anybody though? Obviously with C4 and ITV they're unwilling to dilute 'their' active brands (hence why Golden Balls only showed up in its dying days on ITV1).

The situation with regards to the paperwork of the TVS archive has been discussed before. For all anybody knows it was dumped, burnt, used as loo roll, carpet or wallpaper underlay, or whatever after 1993. I dare say when TVS lost the franchise in the 1991 round, what happened to the programmes after they'd gone in 1993 wasn't their problem. Satellite TV and the era of the re-run hadn't taken off major big time at that point. Plausible the paperwork was even deliberately dumped so the archive couldn't be used. If you have a spare TARDIS going, please go back and find out for us Smile
