Here is a clip from You Bet! on Wednesday. The sound isn't that great, can anyone identify what the commentator says?

Whoops. Just noticed that I've encoded it as 16:9 and I can't be bothered to redo it now, the audio is the important bit anyway.
Sorry to post twice in a row. I just saw that there is a Price is Right Special on at 00:20. The EPG makes no mention of why this is special though or even who is presenting it. It is on for an hour. I am well excited now!

Almost positively certain it is what it sounds like. Somebody's tried to bleep something out shortly afterwards and made a pig's ear of it, mainly because it's in the wrong place. It's quite clearly a Challenge edit because the added beep takes out the music bed as well.

Was it just a Joe Pasquale one?
Yes. Peter Dickson called it a 'bumper edition'. I think it was just longer than normal, that's all.
There were a couple of them which were just double length without any real reason. Think they might've been in primetime?
I think they were on at 5 O'Clock as well, for a few weeks at least. The two wheel winners then go into a Wheel off together, of course in states it's an hour show with the wheeel winners both being in the showcase showdown.
I find The Price is Right quite boring if I'm honest, don't understand why it's lasted so long in the states. They'd probably say the same about Countdown though.
Unfortunately due to a technical hitch the same episode was broadcast in error. So apologies to all our viewers who were waiting for Ep 24 on the Sunday! However, this episode will now air on Sun 28th Aug at 16:00.
No episodes are going to be dropped, the last episode in the series was due to be ep 25 on the 27th Aug, so we are just putting ep 24 in at the end of the run on the 28th.
I didn't realise we were so close to the end of the series. The schedule still shows Auntie's Bloomers at 4pm next Sunday which according to Challenge will now be dropped for the missing episode of 3-2-1. They say they won't drop any episodes but I wonder if they ever planned to show the 1987 Christmas episode in the first place. They didn't bother with the 1986 one.
Looks like Bruce Forsyth's Play Your Cards Right fills the 4pm slow going forward. Which is a shame.
He's saying bother but it does sound a lot like he is saying something else.
I find it hard to believe he would say what it sounds like he is saying (it is former BBC man, the late Raymond Brooks Ward so not someone inexperienced) but I just can't hear 'bother' either. Although that does make more sense and fits in with the horse rider swearing a few seconds later followed by a chuckle from the commentator.

That would mean that LWT keep and supply tapes of You Bet! in an unbleeped form. Which would seem like an odd thing to do. I know unbleeped swearing has been broadcast during You Bet! before when it has been shown on Challenge so it is possible. It could be that LWT did the edit back in 1991 and bleeped out the music too. I suppose it depends at what point in the production it was picked up on. Maybe it was only noticed after or just before the first broadcast and someone had to bleep it out on the original tape.
It's bother, swiftly followed by a sharp intake of breath through his teeth which is making it sound a lot like something else.
I know you are right, of course but once you hear something it is difficult to hear anything else. That is why I avoided putting what I heard in my original post. I didn't want people to be expecting to hear anything when they saw the clip.
I've been really impressed with Challenge's Facebook page today. Someone is doing a fantastic job at replying to my 3-2-1 query and ignoring the idiots. They even did some research and came back with further information a couple of times.
We now know that the 1988(?) Christmas special will air on Saturday.
I'm almost tempted to write to Challenge and say what a good job they have done today. I can't help thinking I would get them in trouble though because they are probably meant to be doing something other than posting on Facebook.
