They've shown the Monkhouse episodes before too, they ran them in 2005, back when that channel actually showed something interesting.
They have also shown the Max Bygraves episodes too. I've seen the 'Turkey' episode on Challenge at least twice.
I do wonder what the future of Challenge is. I hope Sky can inject some life and money in to it. Even though there seems to be a long list of programmes that aren't available for various reasons. There is still a massive archive of gameshows out there. They don't even need to stick to this country either.
I was watching Family Fortunes this morning and it was badly edited. The opening titles were cut short and it skipped straight to the game instead of meeting both families. I watched the show on Challenge in the past and they never used to do edits like these. Don't know why they started doing this for. Also with regards to the older episodes with Monkhouse/Bygraves. I remember seeing them in 2002 back when Challenge used to have a play along feature and when their logo was "Challenge?". The only versions that haven't been shown on Challenge are the Andy Collins and Vernon Kay versions (daytime and Celebrity respectively). I think they should acquire more gameshows because the same things can get boring after a while. I think they should get the old favourites back and also now that Sky own the channel they can put their own commisioned gameshows on there like the updated Gladiators from 2008, Are You Smarter than a Ten Year Old, Don't Forget the Lyrics, Blockbusters (Liza Tarbuck version from 2000), Dirty Money, etc just to have more variety but nevertheless I think Challenge is a great addition to Freeview even though I only get it till 7pm.
Challenge need a live bit like gsn in the us and make more gameshows. can I ask how long has a outtake show been a game show.
Challenge have not been exclusively a gameshow channel for quite a while. I think this is a good thing, it should move further in that direction and become a light entertainment channel in my opinion. They could call it The Family Channel.
Take it over leave it has been one of top rated show on challenge.
I just don't understand this. Why is there an audience for badly edited gameshows that were broadcast complete and sans adverts on BBC One only about a week or so ago?
It's the viewers that are ruining the channel by watching this rubbish.

Take It Or Leave It is an original Challenge programme hosted by Richard Arnold.
On the Central stuff from the early 90s, the Central Production Caption is appended by a logo for "Cte" (also at the end of this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu43A4uPwdg#t=0:50). What is Cte? Central's distribution company (like Carlton International)?
EDIT: I think I was right, and CTE stood for Central Television Enterprises. What a horrible logo though, why did they not use the cake!? At a guess CTE very quickly became Carlton International after the takeover.
