Not for the last 3 or so years, at least.

I'm sure they have this year, the series is credited to 1995 and usually has an animated Carlton UK end cap on it before the Central one, like near enough every Central programme at the time.

The first report on this episode of It's a Mystery may be of interest to this forum. It contains a very brief clip from Challenge TV, fake news presentation and even a VT clock right at the beginning.

Hmm... Smells of over-dramatisation and artisistic licence. Apart from the fact Challenge wasn't broadcasting at midday as stated in the show and wouldn't have had what looks like a regional newsflash on a national channel for a mundane piece of news that would do well to make half a column in the local rag.

Or have I missed the point? Smile

Glad somebody agrees. See what Ofcom say I guess, it'll be in the bulletin of the 14th if at all.

Well looks like they dropped the sponsorship pretty quick so someone must have realised it was a little unwise!

Or they've been prompted by Ofcom.

Or they've been prompted by Ofcom.

Which is by far the most likely, and most sensible suggestion in this thread so far.

I agree, but you try telling Neil Buchanan that. He just won't listen!

Challenge are showing a 1993 episode of Bullseye late tonight, with very bad editing during the Bronze Bully round, going from the dart player throwing his final dart and then immediately cutting to one of the contestants saying where the charity money was going.

It appears they're showing The Pyramid Game in the middle of the night tonight, I thought at first they were showing the ITV version, but I forgot there was a more recent revival with Donny Osmond.

Watching Defectors this morning, it seems to have a different theme to the one I remember. The one on there now sounds a lot like Royalty Free stuff, but it seems like it would be a lot of effort to completely remaster the however-many episodes?

Or is this just a different series to the one I remember watching on f tn way back when?

What's with "flashes" at the start of catchphrase? The edits are very bad.

When they were originally shown on ITV in the late 1990s they often had viewer phone in competitions, so it's a good chance Challenge have edited them out.
