There are no reasons to have the viewers question on repeats, not one. I saw that episode of Take It Or Leave It with the competition intact and it had no graphics stating that the telephone lines have closed so to any viewer this could mean that the competition is open.

As for the channel, apart from having some programmes (which they already had the rights to broadcast but never used them) being different from the normal schedule, it is still the same lot of programmes on constant repeats and they are not even classic programmes many have been broadcast within the last ten years which in my opinion are not deemed to be 'classic'. Challenge, as it is now, is still in the same state it was in four years ago.

Most of their stuff is beyond 10 years old. The newest of Family Fortunes are only just under that.

Millionaire, Egg Heads, Golden Balls and In It to Win It excepted, the majority of their programming is from 2001 and before.

What about historical interest and the sake of completeness? It would enhance my enjoyment of 3-2-1 to see the viewer competition, if this has to have a graphic explaining that the competition is closed then so be it, it would still be better than the current situation of having a messy jump in the programme where the competition used to be.

Yes, clearly a mistake to leave the competition in without making it clear that it has closed on a modern show like Take it or Leave it. Also quite boring to hear Sara (nee Sarah) Cawood read out the question, prize details and T+Cs for a competition that the viewer can no longer enter or win, but give it ten years or so and it might be quite interesting to see how much a competition entry cost in 2006, what they had to say to keep it legal and what was considered a good prize. For that reason, I hope Sky have kept the original broadcast versions and not just the edited competition free versions.

Sadly, I agree with you. It was nice to suddenly see Blockbusters, 3-2-1, Krypton Factor 1995 and Blankety Blank being added to the schedule over the past few months but they seem to have stopped adding new programmes again now. It is also a shame that they seem to stick to the newest episodes they can get rather than going back a bit further. Even with 3-2-1, their oldest programme, they have stuck to the latest two series.

There just cant buy tones of show, There still have not gotten though Blockbusters yet, ( it will be back in autumn ) i hope there do repeat this 80 episode there have done so far

I believe the reason this is done is so we demand to see more, Short burst of block over 6 weeks, then change, then... good idea I say.

Wait to see what the lucrative pre-Christmas season brings.

Freeview viewers are yet to be treated to stuff like People Versus and Winning Lines.

On their Facebook page, Challenge say

Unfortunately due to technical issues with some of the tapes we are only able to show 69 out of the 72 episodes from series 10.
This probably explains the couple of times they missed out an episode and one time they repeated an episode during the latest run.

That is GOOD News, that there are planning to give its proper repeat as I never caught them, Saying that When will there be broadcasting the other 108 episodes?

I think their poor programme information will let them down. Some people will see the repeats and assume these are the only episodes that Challenge have and won't even bother when Challenge start showing the second part of this series. How difficult would it be for them to put the episode number on the EPG?

EDIT: Also, Challenge are trying to get Fort Boyard. No news on which series it will be but I imagine the Channel 5 series would be the one that they would have contract problems with rather then the one made for Challenge.

Quote:
Fort Boyard has been moved to Sepember for now. However, there is no guarentee that we will be able to play it on Challenge, as talks regarding the contract are ongoing. But we are hoping to see it back in our schedules soon!
