I'd also like to see 100% again - cheap and cheerful Channel 5 programming, great stuff though.

Didn't Challenge also make 100% repeats 'play along' via Red Button.

I think they also did with Defectors, Play Your Cards Right and TV Scrabble at least. They'd be listed as 'Play Along TV Scrabble' on the EPG. It was around the time of 2002 or 2003 relaunch away from Challenge TV to Challenge?.

Monday 20th May 2002 at 5pm was when Challenge TV rebranded to Challenge? They comissioned the likes of Defectors and TV Scrabble at the time and did the play along thing only on Sky Digital. NTL was meant to have something like that, the best we ended up getting was play along Fifteen To One on Channel 4.

Strange that they didn't even get it on Telewest, given that was their parent!

I think the whole play along TV thing is dead to be honest. It was fun little gimmick that made Digital TV more exciting a proposition, but the novelty value quickly fades.

One of the questions in the end game of tonight's Family Fortunes was 'Name a Sunday newspaper'

No prizes for guessing what the top answer was!

It was a 2001 episode so had the hearts credits.

No, surely it must have been the Sunday Times. Wink

Yet both contestants said Sunday Times and Mirror. Rolling Eyes Weird seeing a 2000s era episode of FF without the obligatory Contestant appeal slide on the credits, with an overlaid caption saying 'Contestant appeal now closed.'

Ted Rogers did a joke about the News of the World on Sundays episode of 3-2-1. Does anyone else remember the News of the World? It used to be a newspaper when that episode was made in 1987.

I'd love Challenge to show 100% again (which used to air on Channel 5 and Challenge bought the right-repeats for).

Another TV show they could and should commission, is 'Wanted', which used to air on Channel 4.

So cheap and cheerful it's the sort of thing Challenge could make themselves.

Although not strictly a game show the 1994 Channel 4 UK TV series of The Unpleasant World of Penn and Teller would work well on the Challenge.

I'm sure ITV will axe Fool Us due to it for some unbelievable reason it not doing well, I still think the pair would get good figures on Challenge.

I'd see that working better on Dave. I'm surprised it hasn't been repeated. It's a great show.

There's a write-up on the 1995 Krypton Factor here: http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Weaver's_Week_2011-07-17

The conclusion is the same as mine, pretty much - the big mistake was using the tired Krypton Factor brand, instead of letting the programme live or die based on its own merits.
