"That" episode of Catchphrase is on right now. Don't forget to turn AD on.

Will it be the full version or the edited version?

It was edited. This episode has a less famous blooper though. Keep an eye on the big screen right at the end of the episode. It might not be a masturbating robot, but it's something.

I thought it was edited. I seem to remember much more laughter on the youtube version.

They also removed the animated cane or "shaft" if you will.

Two versions of it seem to exist, one of which has Roy Walker telling the contestants to concentrate off-screen, and in another, he's on camera. The latter, I believe, was used in It'll Be Alright on the Night or something similar, so you'd probably get the laugher from the Catchphrase audience as well as the IBAOTN audience over that.

So, just for the record then...

Catchphrase was shown with the edited Snake Charmer catchphrase. As is common with other episodes and other bonus catchphrases, the person audibly describing the programme didn't speak much during the bonus catchphrase apart from to say "A tile on the board is removed revealing a snakes head", sadly this wasn't a euphemism for Mr. Chips' p*nis. I do wonder if viewing figures are higher for this episode of Catchphrase compared to others. There is certainly a lot of related activity on Twitter whenever it is shown.

The 1995 Krypton Factor Final was shown on Saturday too. The response round involved the contestants flying from an airfield in Preston and then landing again. This means that the 1995 series had Blackpool, The Lake District and Preston as it's virtual locations (not including any locations shown in the badly aged animations during the Observation round).

The episode of 3-2-1 shown on Saturday was the first episode from the 1987 series. This was a disappointing series for me as they had dropped the themed shows and the interesting first round used in the previous series for more of a straight gameshow format involving contestants buzzing in to answer general knowledge quetions. This episode featured The Drifters, Brian Conley, Cheryl Baker and Roy Walker (who was terrible, imagine the joke at the start of an average episode of Catchphrase repeated several times for 5 minutes) as well as a singer who I didn't know (neither did Google from what I could tell). By showing this episode Challenge have also confirmed their usually policy of missing out Christmas episodes as the 1986 Christmas episode has not been shown in this run. This episode was preceded by this ident. The viewer competition was once again removed (badly).

I'm still yet to find out whether my vague memory of Challenge Prize Time giving away ceramic Dusty Bins at some point in history was a dream or if it actually happened. I'm also wondering if a couple winning (or perhaps rejecting) a dog on 3-2-1 was also part of the same dream or if that actually happened too. Someone tell me these things are true or that you have the same dreams. Either way, it would make me feel better

How were Challenge able to edit the cane? Do they have a clean version of that particular Catchphrase and they super imposed it over the real one?

Challenge (or more likely some other company who are better at this kind of thing) could just freeze the part of the screen that contains the cane when it is in the down position.

It's just this but with a little more time and care taken over it.

Apparently there was an episode of You Bet with a young Andi Peters on earlier (about 5 hours ago) according to his Twitter.
