Good to see Bullseye leading the way with those ratings.....wish they would buy some of the earlier series. Maybe now that Series 7 and 8 have done well they will consider it.
On another note did anyone ever have any luck in locating clean titles or the sad close?
Going from that promo, it looks like the Sky One version had extra lighting effects in the background, and also four hexagon lights under the scoreboxes which seems to indicate number of matches won/gold runs completed. No idea if this was ever on the ITV show.
The early CA spoke over a promo today. I've never heard them do that before, they normally only speak over the end of programmes. The promo was for WWE wrestling and the CA was promoting TNA wresting.
Strange episode of Auntie's Bloomers this evening too. It was a wildlife special, most of the clips were from various BBC wildlife programmes and were not outtakes like the other episodes of the Bloomers series have been. It seemed out of place for what was mainly a wildlife programme to be part of the Auntie's Bloomers series and it seemed even more out of place for Challenge to be showing it.
Were the TV and library versions both by Ed Welch?
The library version certainly is - my 7" vinyl says unequivocally "Composed, Arranged, Performed and Produced by Ed Welch". It seems to have been published by Rainbow Music and released on Grasmere Records, distributed by EMI records, and its catalogue number is GRASS2. It also says (P) 1988 Original Sound Recordings.

Talking over trailers happens quite frequently, and they also talk over adverts quite frequently (which I'm sure the advertisers wouldn't be happy about).

I think it was the spin-off "Auntie's Natural Bloomers".
There was a real sign of the times on the first ever Auntie's Bloomers shown last week - Wogan started by pointing out what the "bleep" sound effect signified (ie someone swearing) - was it really that rare on TV at that point (1991)? Obviously there was none of the reality programming that if features in today, but it must have bene used in things like the Gotcha Oscars which had been running for 3 years at that point.

Maybe for the BBC, itv had been using for past 6 years, with the likes of beadles about
