I'm sure we've discussed this but it's really annoyed me the fact they've butchered the intro to Family Fortunes.* Part of the gameshow is knowing a little about the families surely?

*I'm not losing sleep... but it's annoying!

I was a little disheartened to see how far they took the editing when it came to FF. It's worse than when they aired an episode of Bullseye a while ago and completely cut Jim introducing the contestants at the beginning, leaving us with the contestants already sitting at their buzzers. I know they'd complain saying it leaves more room for more shows, but I think this editing system should be dropped and extend the timeslots by 5 or 10 minutes where necessary like UKTV. It's a pain, sure, but at least we see the entire episode that they're supposed to be showing.

What good would extending the transmission slot do?
Family Fortunes was originally a half hour programme with adverts. Extend it to 40mins and you'll have copious amounts of fillers all over the place.

UKTV only run things at 40 minutes because the majority of them in those slots are BBC productions - now with forced ad-breaks.

There could always cut the advert time down Wink

Both The Crystal Maze and Auntie's Bloomers had the VO come in early this evening, when it got to the point that the VO was meant to be played, it started again. I can understand how wrong timing information can cause the VO to come in late or early but what causes the VO to trigger twice within about 5 or 6 seconds?

Perhaps the second was triggered manually both times.

I keep getting texts telling me my episode of Goldenballs is playing on that channel.

I should have negotiated repeat fees. I bet Jasper gets his.

Is the "TV Forum's Gavin Scott is currently appearing on television" text alert service a commercial venture? How do I sign up?

It involves a ritual sacrifice of a toasted sandwich maker.

What were on the six cards on Gordon's desk through out the programme? He dosen't seem to use them much.

I'd assume they represented each of the six rounds, but I'm happy to hear otherwise.

Oh, and finally, Blockbusters appeared today. Great stuff.

I'm confused. If both the original ITV slot & the Challenge repeat slot are 30 mins, why are they being edited anyway?

(To fit in more ads?)
