The Christmas specials, starting I think with the 1993 one (Ed Tudor Pole's first episode, Richard's last), then yeah, back to the start of the first series.

The sixth and final series of The Crystal Maze is now on Challenge on Freeview from tonight! Haven't seen this since 1995!! Surprised Wonder what Challenge will show when it finished in 2 and a half weeks?? Probably The Crystal Maze again! Rolling Eyes When they could stick on Fort Boyard or maybe even Knightmare - surely shows that would be appealing to The Maze's audience - before rerunning the series again?

Or maybe Run The Gauntlet?? Surprised Surprised

Challenge haven't had the rights to Knightmare for the best part of the last four years.

Fort Boyard, if I remember correctly, Challenge don't have the Channel 5 series, only the version they commissioned in 2003.

Run The Gauntlet, if that is a serious suggestion, wasn't a "series" as such. Plus it only seems to have run for about eight episodes. Mind you , Interceptor only ran for seven...

Dave Spikey re-runs of Bullseye are back on Challenge, on Sunday.

More faithful to the original show than I remember when I saw Spikey Bullseye first itme round, but all the animations still look like they were made in Flash.

I've only seen clips of the Dave Spikey shows on youtube so this will be all new to me. The only thing I didn't like is that re-make of the original theme.

I wonder if the Dave Spikey Bullseyes will ever be shown in 16:9. Challenge only seem to show a 14:9 version.

I've noticed a lot of edits on the Jim Bowen Bullseye's recently. At the end of the second episode last night, it quickily jumped from Jim Bowen speaking half way through a sentence to Tony Green waving at the camera. Are they cutting out the application request for the next series or something? Also there seems to be cuts in the introduction as well.

They're cuts for time. There's odd episodes/series of Family Fortunes with the contestant appeal intact (with a Television House/Carlton Studios, Nottingham address) with a caption over the top stating "Contestant appeal now closed".

Technically redundant, because the address is for the Carlton Studios in Nottingham, which no longer exists because it was sold to the University of Nottingham.

Ther's an intresting article here on the layout and operatons of the Lenton Lane studio, where of course Bullseye and Family Fortunes was recorded, both in Studio 7.

Of course the only clue Bullseye was ever recorded at Nottingham comes about because Jim Bowen keeps mentioning it every five minutes on the show. When did production of it move from Birmingham to Nottingham, does anybody know?

I don't know if anybody else caught it this morning, but there was actually a trailer for Challenge's shows! Albeit terribly redundant as the trailer featured the likes of Classic Millionaire and In It To Win It, which are on most of the time anyway. It was nowhere near as upbeat as the pre-Sky days and seems a tad more solemn... and cheap.

Hardly common knowledge outside of the media sphere/Nottingham, more than anything it's a courtesy to prevent people from wasting stamps I'd imagine!

Throughout the whole of 2010 there was absolutely no promotion for Challenge beside the odd CA on the station itself. I was personally under the impression VM had planned to wind down the channel as they did with Trouble a few years before.

All the cross-channel promotion had been agreed in advance with VM's ad agency IDS, which lead to the weird situation where Channel One and Bravo were receiving promotion across the LivingTVGroup network right up to their demise.

The "Tonight on Challenge" promos are a nice surprise - weird chromed version of the Challenge logo though.
