Challenge playout screwing up again. Full clean ident played out by mistake during the break in Family Fortunes, and they played the pre-recorded CA about 30 seconds before the credits even started. They need to tighten up their timings methinks because I’ve seen it happen a few times before.

After chatting with Anthony Davis for the TV Booth Podcast just a few moments ago (episode available in a couple of weeks time) I have the answer to the burning question:

The real question about Stake Out is who did the voiceover at the start. I always thought it was Mr Davis announcing himself, but others disagree. Can you solve the mystery?

You can either wait for the episode to be released, or click the spoiler... Smile

It was Anthony himself, not John Sachs. There's a story about John Sachs in the podcast.

I noticed Roy Walker was doing continuity announcements last night for the show and he said it was "new to Challenge" so not sure if this is a new programme or if they are perhaps re-using continuity he did the last time they showed it?

All "new to Challenge" means these days is that they haven't shown that programme under Sky management. Doesn't necessarily mean it's literally brand spanking new. The Roy Walker programme may be. Time will tell.

As a way to promote a programme, I’d say it’s good, but it’s not right.

From what I've seen, it looks like a brand new show! However, Challenge are using clips of shows from when they were broadcast on Ftn - rather than recent clips of the same show from Challenge, such as Gladiators?

To me it looks like they are just using clips from YouTube
